Lam Dong Border Guard Political Commissar inspects landslides and storm response work in Mui Ne

On the evening of November 28, Colonel Tran Viet Hung, Political Commissar of Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard, had a working session with Mui Ne Border Guard Station to inspect the situation and directly direct the response to storm No. 15 in the area.

At the meeting, the commander of Mui Ne Border Guard Station said that as soon as he received information about storm No. 15, the unit deployed synchronous measures according to the natural disaster prevention and control plan. Communication work was maintained 24/24 hours, ensuring service for command and coordination with local forces.

The unit has fully prepared standing forces, rescue vehicles, and logistics materials to be ready to mobilize when required.

At the same time, the work of checking boats was carried out urgently and contacting all vehicles operating at sea, guiding fishermen to quickly move to safe anchorages, resolutely not allowing any boats or workers to stay in dangerous areas.

Warning bulletins about dangerous areas, direction of movement and intensity of storms are broadcast continuously, helping fishermen proactively take precautions and update the situation as quickly as possible.

Due to the influence of high tides combined with high waves, landslides occurred along the coast along Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, Ham Tien 1 Ward (Mui Ne Ward), affecting a number of houses.

Faced with that situation, on the morning of November 28, Mui Ne Border Guard Station mobilized 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces to support people in moving their assets to a safe place.

Border guards quickly deployed sandbags to temporarily prevent erosion; at the same time, they arranged permanent troops at key locations to promptly handle any new developments.

Concluding the working session, Colonel Tran Viet Hung acknowledged and commended the proactive and responsible spirit of officers and soldiers of Mui Ne Border Guard Station in implementing storm prevention measures as well as supporting the overcoming of landslides caused by high tides.

Colonel Tran Viet Hung affirmed that the unit's early initiative and close monitoring of the situation have contributed significantly to ensuring the safety of local people.

The unit must assign specific tasks to each officer, clarify the responsibilities of each person in relation to each locality and area; at the same time, strengthen close coordination with local authorities to promptly grasp and handle situations.
