Taking place from November 27 to December 1, the 4th International Festival of New Music, Vietnam 2025, hosted by the Vietnam Musicians Association, will have the participation of more than 300 delegates and guests, including domestic art troupes, Vietnamese musicians and singers, and musicians and artists from the Russian Federation, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Adygea, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, China, Australia, and Laos.

In his welcome speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized that the International Festival of New Music has affirmed its position as one of the important events in the professional music life of our country. Through its organization, the festival has created a meaningful art forum, a gathering place for talented composers and performers from many countries, representing diverse and rich professional music backgrounds in the world. Not only bringing new artistic experiences, the festival also contributes to promoting composing, performing, as well as research on music theory and criticism in Vietnam.

According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, the event has been attracting the attention of many artists and music lovers; has been recognized by the press and highly appreciated by public opinion for its artistic value, professionalism and significance of international cultural exchange and cooperation. This is the driving force to continue expanding the space for creativity and integration in the music field.
Affirming that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism always strongly supports regional and international artistic activities, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said that the Ministry wishes to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese musicians and artists as well as international friends to have an environment to compose, stage and perform new works; at the same time, contribute to orienting healthy musical aesthetic tastes, bringing the public closer to the true values of high art.

In his opening speech, Major General, musician Duc Trinh, President of the Vietnam Musicians Association, Head of the festival organizing committee, said that after a long interruption due to global challenges, the melodies of creativity, the sounds of dialogue and peace once again resounded, connecting the hearts of music lovers from the Asia - Europe continents and other countries around the world.
“Vietnam feels extremely honored and proud to welcome talented musicians and artists - cultural ambassadors of the world. You have brought with you not only talent but also love of music, cultural diversity and the spirit of international cooperation. This festival is a colorful picture of sound, where the long-standing musical traditions of the East meet the modern, contemporary musical thinking of the West, creating a common language full of emotions and freshness,” said musician Duc Trinh.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, there was a symphony concert introducing 11 representative works by musicians from various countries, including: Ballet Suite "Hong Hoang" (Do Hong Quan, Vietnam), "Rose Variations" for Symphony Orchestra (Deqing Wen, China/Switzerland), "Vietnam Dream" for Symphony Orchestra (Alexander Radvilovich, Russia), "Variations on the Theme of Sisa" for Symphony Orchestra (Sanzhar Baiterekov, Kazakhstan), the song "River of Friendship" (Nguyen Duc Trinh, Vietnam), the song "Resurrection" (Le Tu Minh, Vietnam), "Elegy" for solo violin and Symphony Orchestra (Morten Poulsen, Denmark), "Praise the Fatherland" for Symphony Orchestra (Douangmixay Likaiya, Laos), "Proud of the Homeland Vietnam" - theme and variations of movements IV and V for Symphony Orchestra (Ngo Hoang Quan, Vietnam), "Dance for Couples" “Duo” for violin solo and Symphony Orchestra (Peter Swinnen, Belgium), choir “The most beautiful Vietnam named after Uncle Ho” (Muratbek Begaliyev, Kyrgyzstan).
In particular, the work “Vietnam Dream” was written by musician Alexander Radvilovich before he came to Vietnam. He felt that this country was always present in his life. He wrote it from his impression of the work “The Adventures of a Cricket” by writer To Hoai and the resistance wars for independence of the Vietnamese people.
The Festival will continue with international chamber music concerts, chamber music concerts by young Vietnamese musicians, traditional folk music concerts held at the Vietnam National Academy of Music; the Military University of Culture and Arts (Hanoi); Heritage Park (Cao Phong, Phu Tho) and 3 lectures by international experts for students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
