Just two months after Meta poured $14.3 billion into Scale AI and brought CEO Alexandr Wang and several senior executives to run Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), the relationship between the two sides has begun to show signs of cracking.

Several key Scale AI staffers have left Meta, while Meta’s TBD Labs team has prioritized working with Scale AI competitors like Mercor and Surge to train new AI models. Many researchers at Meta rate Scale AI’s data as “low quality.”

While Meta has diversified its data partners, Scale AI has lost major clients like OpenAI and Google, leading to the layoff of 200 employees. Meta’s internal turmoil and the departure of many AI talents suggest that Meta’s biggest investment in AI is facing challenges.

TikTok will soon let users send voice messages (up to 1 minute), photos, and videos in direct or group messages. Each message can include up to 9 photos or videos from the phone's gallery or camera.

However, users cannot send photos/videos from the first message, and the messaging feature is only available to users 16 years of age and older. TikTok also added a sensitive photo filter for users aged 16–18, which can be turned on/off at will if they are over 18.

It's a move that puts TikTok in a position to compete with apps like Messenger and Snapchat, while expanding its role as a social communication platform.
