"Cheap" electric KIA Syros revealed for test drive, about 420 million VND

The new KIA Syros EV 2026 electric SUV has recently appeared unexpectedly in India. The car still retains the same design as the petrol version but adds a closed grille.

After introducing the KIA Carens Clavis EV in the Indian market, the Korean automaker is preparing for the launch of its next electric vehicle, the new 2026 electric Syros EV.

Rushlane recently posted images of the 2026 KIA Syros EV being tested at a charging station in India. The car is carefully covered at the front, rear, and under-window area.

The details that can be seen clearly such as the pillars, outside rearview mirrors and roof rack are still the same as the gasoline version. The shark fin antenna also appears on the test version. It can be seen that the Syros EV has almost no changes in overall design compared to the internal combustion engine version.

The difference lies in the details specific to electric vehicles such as: closed grille and charging port. Previously, the prototype tested in Korea was discovered to have the charging port on the left side.

The front and rear lights have a similar design to the petrol version, with only slight tweaks in detail. The test version also uses familiar alloy wheels, but differs in the green painted brake calipers - a sign of the electrified platform.

The Syros EV is expected to maintain the same dimensions of 3,995 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, 1,680 mm high, and a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. The electric version will have its own paint color, in addition to the 8 monochrome colors available on the gasoline version.

KIA has yet to release official specifications, but it is likely that the Syros EV will use a battery from the Hyundai Inster EV, the NMC type with a capacity of 42 kWh or 49 kWh. With the large battery pack, the operating range is about 370 km.

It is expected that the car will support fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

According to Rushlane, the expected selling price of the Kia Syros EV 2026 electric SUV in India ranges from 14-20 lakh INR (about 406 - 580 million VND).

If this car model is brought to Vietnam in the near future, it promises to attract a lot of attention, especially during the time of gasoline and diesel vehicle restrictions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
