According to the decision, the competition did not have a First Prize winning architectural design. The Second Prize belonged to the design with competition code TT6869 of VTCO Investment Company Limited (prize value 80 million VND).
The second prize winning design was titled “Moon on the River” - a poetic and peaceful symbol: the Yangtze River flows parallel to the sea, carrying within it a quiet, gentle beauty, not noisy, not fierce. It was this tranquility that inspired the idea of a bridge like the moon reflected on the water.
The bridge architecture aims for softness, elegance, and harmony with nature, like a gentle but impressive highlight in the poetic sea and river area of Tam Thanh.
Tam Thanh Bridge was formed from inspiration associated with the geographical location, cultural identity and typical landscape of Tam Ky land. The main idea of the design is the image of 3 intertwined circles, carrying many layers of deep meaning and strong symbolism.
The three circles represent the North - Central - South, the three closely connected regions of the country, expressing the spirit of eternal national unity of Vietnam. Tam Ky - with its position as the midpoint of the Central region - becomes the place where that spirit intersects, connects and spreads.
The three circles also symbolize Blue Sky - Blue Earth - Blue Sea, blending together to create a harmonious ecological space, close to nature - just like the name Tam Thanh of the land where there is a clear sky, gentle and fertile land and a long, gentle blue sea.
The design plan aims for a gentle yet profound architectural expression, connecting symbolic elements and landscape, creating a project that not only serves transportation but is also a characteristic artistic highlight of Tam Ky - Tam Thanh.
The contest also has 2 third prize winning plans including: plan with contest code CH3979 of the Joint Venture of Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Co., Ltd. - Hoa Phong E&C Investment and Development Joint Stock Company; plan with contest code QN2025 of VTCO Investment Co., Ltd. (prize value 40 million VND).
In addition, the contest code CN0806 of VTCO Investment Company Limited received competition support costs (support value of 15 million VND).
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize the announcement and publicization of the competition results; award prizes to the winning units and send the competition results to the architectural management agency according to regulations; coordinate with the Department of Construction to study and implement the next steps to soon invest in the construction of Tam Thanh Bridge.
The Department of Construction and relevant agencies and units are responsible for monitoring and guiding the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board during the implementation process.
The architectural design competition for Tam Thanh Bridge will go through two rounds, starting in March 2025. The bridge is located on the extended National Highway 40B in Tam Thanh Commune, Tam Ky City. The starting point is at the Tam Thanh intersection (of Vo Chi Cong Street); the end point is at the intersection with Thanh Nien Street.
The competition aims to select creative and practical design options, aiming to build a project with beautiful, sustainable, environmentally friendly, modern architecture, suitable for planning, in harmony with the surrounding landscape...
