Ten Lua Street, the 300m long section from Road 29 to Provincial Road 10, Binh Tan District (HCMC) has taken shape after 6 years of implementing the upgrading and expansion project. Accordingly, the project was approved in 2018, expected to be completed in 2020, but then encountered many difficulties in site clearance and legal issues. At the beginning of this year, the project was able to untie the knots and hand over the entire site to construct the road expansion to 40m, with a scale of 6 lanes. According to the records, the project is now basically complete. At the construction site, the contractor is organizing machinery and workers to complete the final items. The project is expected to be completed on the occasion of National Day, September 2nd, to serve the travel needs of the people. According to the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), the project has reached more than 98% of its volume. The contractor has completed the asphalt paving and is constructing the final items such as paving the sidewalks, lighting systems, and trees.
Mr. Vo Van Hoi (living on Ten Lua Street) excitedly said he was counting down the days until the project was completed.
"Previously, this area had no road, there was a large and deep pond, making it very difficult for people to move around. When the project was implemented, the living environment of the households around here changed significantly. People were looking forward to the completion of the new road, making travel more convenient," said Mr. Hoi.
A group of workers are paving the sidewalk sections at the intersection with Road 29. The sidewalks on both sides of the road are more than 7m wide on each side. Mr. Nguyen Van Toai (24 years old, from An Giang ) paved the sidewalk at the intersection with Provincial Road 10. The male worker said the construction site has been bustling since the beginning of August to meet the traffic opening schedule for the September 2nd holiday. When put into operation, the project will help complete the main Ten Lua route connecting Kinh Duong Vuong Street to Provincial Road 10, thereby reducing traffic congestion and promoting economic development in Binh Tan District.
