74-year-old man receives master's degree in business administration, has 4 university degrees

On August 25, Nha Trang University ( Khanh Hoa province) held a graduation ceremony and awarded degrees to 92 new PhDs and Masters, including Mr. Nguyen Anh.

According to the leadership of Nha Trang University, Mr. Anh is the oldest person ever to study and graduate with a master's degree at the school.

"Mr. Anh will be an inspiration and an example for young people in the spirit of continuous learning," said the leader of Nha Trang University.

Holding the diploma in his hand, Mr. Anh happily said: "After many days of searching, researching, and studying hard, I have fulfilled my dream."

Sharing more, Mr. Anh said that he used to be a construction supervisor architect. After retiring, he stayed home to help his wife sell goods.

Mr. Anh graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, studied distance learning and graduated with a degree in accounting from Tra Vinh University, then a degree in law from Vinh University. In 2023, he also obtained a bachelor's degree in English from Hue University.

With his studious nature, Mr. Anh determined to register for a master's degree at Nha Trang University.

"Many people ask me why I'm old and don't stay home and rest, why go to school? What's the point of getting a degree? But studying to supplement my knowledge, and with the support of my wife and children, I'm determined to get a master's degree. I want to be an example for my children and grandchildren to follow," Mr. Anh said happily.

Mr. Anh chose the topic of his master's thesis defense as "Factors affecting the elderly's intention to consume functional foods in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province".

According to Master Nguyen Anh, the elderly often have many illnesses and must regularly use functional foods. Therefore, it is necessary to have more understanding about this group.

According to Mr. Anh, on the day he received his master's degree, there was a mixture of joy and happiness, mixed with sadness because his beloved wife, who accompanied and supported him throughout his long journey, had passed away 2 months ago.

"I would like to dedicate this diploma today to my beloved wife," Mr. Anh emotionally shared.
