The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just sent an urgent notice to educational institutions across the city about coordinating the implementation of the Campaign against "online kidnapping".
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires school principals to continue implementing the Department's official dispatch on preventing and stopping criminals from taking advantage of cyberspace to defraud students, and the official dispatch on strengthening the protection of children in the online environment.

The Department also requires schools to coordinate with local police agencies to educate students about risks, methods and tricks of cybercrime; skills to prevent and handle problems when they arise; and guide students to learn and use documents and media publications provided by police agencies.
Schools must propagate to staff and teachers to coordinate in preventing information that is harmful to students according to legal regulations on network information security.
Schools coordinate to implement and encourage students to participate in experiential activities simulating real-life situations and methods of responding to cybercrime at educational institutions in the campaign organized by the police sector.
Previously, at the workshop "Strengthening the building of a healthy school environment, not using mobile phones during recess", Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Dong, Deputy Head of Department PA03 of Ho Chi Minh City Police shared that currently up to 90% of children access social networks and access them daily, while only about 35% of students are aware of the time they spend on social networks.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dong, students using social networks not only affects their studies but also leads to many pitfalls such as fraud, kidnapping, bullying, online harassment, etc.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Dong recommends that when going online, students should spend 1-2 minutes reading official information about forms, warnings and ways to prevent online fraud to limit dangers and risks.
