Cuba and Vietnam screen documentary 'Seeds of Happiness'

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, the Cuban news channel Canal Caribe and VTV1 channel will launch the documentary 'Seeds of Happiness', recording the story of Vietnamese and Cuban people attached to rice farming in Cuba.

VTV's one-hour film will be broadcast simultaneously in both countries to celebrate Vietnam's National Day, at 8:10 p.m. Vietnam time on September 2 on VTV 1 and at 9:10 a.m. the same day on Canal Caribe.

“Seeds of Happiness” recounts the work in Cuba of a group of Vietnamese agricultural engineers who contributed their experience at Los Palacios to the cultivation of new rice varieties, including the CT16 hybrid rice variety, which contributed to increasing Cuba's rice production.

According to an article published on the online newspaper Cubadebate, with the support of the Institute of Information and Social Communications, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana, the film is a testament to the brotherhood between the Cuban and Vietnamese people, who have stood side by side in difficult times.
