The trend of "showing off" children's academic achievements happens year after year at this time. Of course, with joy and pride, it's normal for parents to photograph and post their children's academic results (from the poster's perspective). But for those whose results are posted (or are featured?!), it's not always comfortable. Many children are unhappy when their academic achievements are "shown off" to everyone, and some even show displeasure when their parents post their results on social media.
The end of the school year is the time for parent-teacher meetings. Besides the worry of "every meeting means paying money," some teachers genuinely don't want to burden parents. Therefore, donations are entirely voluntary, and parents discuss among themselves how to give their children small rewards or farewell parties. However, in this collective effort to care for the students, opinions vary, and many parents leave the groups (Zalo groups created during the school year for teachers and parents to communicate) as a way of expressing their disapproval!
The end of the school year marks the completion of nine long months of caring for young students. Many teachers not only teach but also guide their students daily, helping them grow into responsible adults. One teacher recounted how, in her class, she sometimes had to bring needles and thread to mend broken student shirts or torn pants. Many teachers, in addition to teaching, also closely monitor students to intervene and prevent potential arguments or physical altercations. Caring for one child at home is difficult enough; caring for dozens of children with diverse personalities is no easy feat! Therefore, at the end of the school year, sincere expressions of gratitude from parents are essential for these dedicated teachers!
