On the morning of June 12, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, announced that the police forces of Dak Lak province had arrested 22 individuals involved in the armed attack on the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (including the working area of the commune police) in Cu Kuin district on the early morning of June 11.
Authorities also rescued two citizens who were taken hostage, while the third citizen freed himself.
Previously, according to a report from the Dak Lak Provincial Police, in the early morning of June 11th, a group of people attacked the offices of the Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur commune People's Committees in Cu Kuin district with guns, resulting in the deaths and injuries of several commune police officers, officials, and local residents.
Local authorities have decisively implemented measures to stabilize the situation, promptly visiting and supporting families of those who sacrificed their lives, died, or were injured; informing and encouraging people to remain calm, not panic, and follow the instructions of the authorities to ensure safety.
On the afternoon of June 11th, General To Lam, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security, signed a decision to posthumously promote four police officers who died in the attack on the commune People's Committee office in Dak Lak; and to provide support to the families of the deceased and those injured while on duty.
