Da Nang: 76 individuals received the Phan Chau Trinh Award in 2025

Delegates awarded Phan Chau Trinh prizes to individuals.

This is an activity to commend and honor outstanding students and postgraduates of the three communes, at the same time arouse the tradition of studiousness, encourage and promote the training and nurturing of talents.

Patriot Phan Chau Trinh was born on September 9, 1872, an excellent son of his hometown Tay Loc, Tam Loc commune (old), now Tay Ho commune, Da Nang city. He passed the Pho Bang exam in the 13th year of Thanh Thai (1901), was not only a person with profound knowledge of Confucianism but also understood Western learning. Throughout his life, he always held high the flag of democracy, social reform, and advocated saving the country by improving people's knowledge and civil rights. Phan Chau Trinh's policy of taking improving people's knowledge as the root, the foundation for social reform in the early 20th century, was an innovative thought in the path of saving the country compared to his predecessors at that time.

Delegates attending the award ceremony offered incense in memory of Phan Chau Trinh.

Phan Chau Trinh's ideology of "enlightening the people, strengthening their spirit, and improving their lives", promoting education as a way of being human and developing society is a very correct ideology and still holds true today. Phan Chau Trinh's talent, heroic spirit, and passionate love for the Fatherland and homeland will forever shine, a source of pride for future generations.

In 2001, the award named after patriot Phan Chau Trinh was founded.

In order to encourage and develop young talents, to motivate and inspire the will to study for children of Tam Ky-Phu Ninh (old), in 2001 the award named after patriot Phan Chau Trinh was founded. By 2010, the Phan Chau Trinh Award was held separately in 2 localities, this year is the 15th year the award has been held in Phan Chau Trinh's hometown.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho Commune People's Committee Phan Van Ba shared that the Phan Chau Trinh Award is the creative application and concretization of the Party's viewpoints and policies into practice. The award has been widely promoted inside and outside the locality and received the attention and enthusiastic support of many agencies, units, students, postgraduates and people.

“The efforts in studying and training to achieve excellent results are not only an honor for the students and their families to receive the Phan Chau Trinh Award in 2025, but also a great source of pride for their hometowns of Tay Ho, Chien Dan, and Phu Ninh. I hope that this achievement will be maintained and developed forever, each year higher than the previous year, and will be a source of encouragement for future generations of students to strive on the path of studying and establishing themselves and their careers,” said Mr. Ba.

The Phan Chau Trinh Award 2025 has selected 76 individuals to receive the award, including 2 students who won the International Math Prize; 6 students who won the First Prize in the Provincial Excellent Student Competition; 3 students who won the Second and Third Prizes in the National High School Excellent Student Competition; 52 full-time university graduates with excellent and good grades; 2 PhD students, 1 master's degree, 1 resident physician - specialist I.
