Da Nang is stepping up investment in social housing.

In recent years, Da Nang city has stepped up investment in the construction of social housing to meet the growing needs of its people.

Commencement of a new project

On August 28th, the social housing project at Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area (located on land plots B4-1 and B4-2, Me Linh Street, in Hai Van and Lien Chieu wards), commercially named Ecohome Hoa Hiep, with a total investment of over 2.125 billion VND, commenced construction.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Ecohome Hoa Hiep project is an important event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd; and to welcome the 23rd Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee.

The Hoa Hiep 4 resettlement area covers approximately 4.2 hectares and comprises 3 buildings with 1,476 social housing units. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2029. The goal is to provide comfortable and convenient living spaces, a green and clean environment, and reasonable prices, making it accessible to workers in Da Nang city.

It is understood that, in addition to social housing, the project also includes commercial housing units sold at market prices to offset costs, thereby contributing to lowering the selling price, rental price, and overall management and operating costs of social housing apartments.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh said that from now until 2030, Da Nang must build nearly 29,000 houses, which is a relatively large number. In 2025 alone, the city has registered approximately 2,600 houses.

Da Nang is one of the major socio -economic centers of the country. After the reorganization of administrative units and the merger with the former Quang Nam province, the demand for housing for the people is very high, especially housing for low-income earners.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ha Nam, Director of the City's Department of Construction, Da Nang is currently in a period of strong development, with a rapid urbanization rate, and the demand for housing for workers, laborers, and low-income groups is increasing. According to the government's target, in the period 2025-2030, after the merger, Da Nang city needs to complete nearly 29,000 social housing units. This is a large but also very humane task, demonstrating the concern of the Party, the State, and the city government for the lives of the people.

Boost investment in social housing.

Recently, the Department of Construction announced the sale of social housing units in blocks A and B of the An Trung 2 low-income housing project (An Hai Nam ward, Son Tra district). The project has a total of 633 apartments available for sale, with 288 units in block A and 345 units in block B. The project comprises three apartment blocks with a total of 957 apartments. Block A has 18 floors, Block B has 15 floors, and Block C has 12 floors.

Previously, in February 2025, the Department of Construction also announced the sale of 250 apartments in the social housing project at plot B4-1, within the Bau Tram Lakeside Green Urban Area. In addition, the city has completed a social housing project for people with meritorious service to the revolution on Vu Mong Nguyen Street (Ngu Hanh Son Ward) with 209 apartments already in use, and an additional 191 apartments will be added upon completion of phase 2. Furthermore, there is a social housing and trade union facility project in Lien Chieu with approximately 730 apartments...

In addition to thousands of social housing units funded by public investment, Da Nang will also have thousands more funded by private capital. Specifically, the social housing apartment project at plots B4-1 and B4-2 in the Bau Tram Lakeside Green Urban Area, with 2,736 apartments, has been completed and put into use. There is also a low-income housing project in the Dai Dia Bao Resettlement Area - Block C.

In addition, projects such as the social housing project at apartment site No. 3 in Zone B - Nam Cam Le Bridge Residential Area and the social housing project at apartment site No. 5 in Zone B - Nam Cam Le Bridge Residential Area (1,955 apartments) are also being urgently completed, with bid evaluation documents submitted to the Department of Finance for appraisal of investor selection results and aiming to start construction in December 2025...

In addition, there are other projects such as social housing at plot number 10 Trinh Cong Son (649 apartments) currently undergoing investor selection; social housing projects at plot A1-7 Chu Huy Man Street; projects at plot A2-4 on the access road to Tien Son Bridge and Ngu Hanh Son Street, Ngu Hanh Son Ward; projects at Hoa Minh apartment complex; and projects at plot B3 in Zone E (phase 1) - Nam Cau Cam Le residential area are also being prioritized for appraisal by the Department of Construction for approval of investment policies...

With numerous projects already underway, the city will meet its social housing target by 2025, as set by the Prime Minister.
