Action month for gender equality, prevention and response to gender-based violence in 2025 with the theme "Gender equality and safety for women and girls in the digital age".

At the launching ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the City Women's Union Luong Thi Dao said that in recent years, the work of gender equality and prevention of violence and abuse against women and children has always received attention from Party committees, authorities and the coordination of departments and branches.

The city has issued many important policies to narrow the gender gap, ensure equal access to education, healthcare, employment and social security; and at the same time create an environment for women to confidently assert their abilities and contribute to socio-economic development.

The Women’s Union at all levels has promoted communication with the message “Say no to violence against women and children for a safe Da Nang ”; at the same time, effectively maintained many models to support victims such as “Trusted Address”, “Shelter”, “Rapid Response Team”, “Pioneer Men’s Club”, “Legal Counseling Center…”. These models have helped many women and children to boldly speak up and protect their rights.

The program “Orange - Light up and take action”, especially the orange lighting activity at Dragon Bridge and the association headquarters, has created a strong communication campaign, contributing to bringing Da Nang to participate in the global program “Safe city and safe public space”...

However, gender equality work still faces many challenges such as gender prejudice, gender-based violence, gender imbalance at birth, disparities in access to employment, education and health care, and domestic violence still quietly occurs.

The two-tier government model with a large population requires strong and timely intervention to protect women and children. If not detected and strictly handled, acts of violence will have long-term consequences for society.

Therefore, these issues need to continue to be addressed through concrete actions and the cooperation of the entire community. Each individual, family, agency and organization needs to enhance their responsibility, proactively create opportunities and empower women and girls, and promote gender equality in a substantive manner.

The Standing Vice President of the City Women's Union called on all agencies, businesses, officials, members and women in Da Nang to take action together so that the 2025 Action Month becomes a practical campaign with widespread impact.

Every action, no matter how small, contributes to building an equal, safe and sustainable society. We need to resolutely speak out against all acts of violence and gender discrimination and proactively apply digital technology to spread the message of protecting women and children in cyberspace, towards a safe, happy and comprehensively developed Da Nang.

On this occasion, the City Women's Union launched the application "AI Assistant - Women understand the law, live confidently"; at the same time, presented 40 gifts to orphans and women in difficult circumstances affected by recent storms and floods; presented communication products to 350 participating members; organized training on crime prevention, social evils and gender equality skills for members and women throughout the city.

The month of action for gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence is held from November 15 to December 15 every year.
