The 2025 Month of Action for Gender Equality, Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence has the theme "Gender Equality and Safety for Women and Girls in the Digital Age".

At the launching ceremony, Standing Vice President of the City Women's Union Luong Thi Dao stated that in recent years, the work of gender equality and prevention of violence and abuse against women and children has always received the attention of the Party Committee, the government, and the coordination of various departments and agencies.

The city has enacted several important policies aimed at narrowing the gender gap, ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, employment, and social security; and creating an environment where women can confidently assert their abilities and contribute to socio-economic development.

Women's Union branches at all levels are stepping up communication with the message "Say no to violence against women and children for a safe Da Nang "; while maintaining the effectiveness of many victim support models such as "Trusted Addresses," "Temporary Shelters," "Rapid Response Teams," "Pioneering Men's Clubs," "Legal Counseling Centers," etc. These models have helped many women and children to boldly speak out and protect their rights.

The "Orange - Light Up and Act" program, especially the orange lighting activity at the Dragon Bridge and the association's headquarters, created a powerful communication campaign, contributing to Da Nang's participation in the global "Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces" program...

However, gender equality efforts still face many challenges such as gender stereotypes, gender-based violence, gender imbalance at birth, disparities in access to employment, education , and healthcare; and domestic violence continues to occur silently.

The two-tiered government model, coupled with a large population, makes protecting women and children even more crucial and requires strong and timely intervention. If left undetected and unpunished, acts of violence will have long-lasting consequences for society.

Therefore, these issues need to continue to be addressed through concrete actions and the collective efforts of the entire community. Every individual, family, agency, and organization needs to enhance their responsibility, proactively create opportunities and empower women and girls, and promote genuine gender equality.

The Standing Vice President of the Da Nang City Women's Union called on all agencies, businesses, officials, members, and women in Da Nang to act together to make the 2025 Action Month a practical and widely impactful campaign.

Every action, however small, contributes to building an equal, safe, and sustainable society. We must resolutely speak out against all acts of violence and gender discrimination, and proactively apply digital technology to spread the message of protecting women and children in cyberspace, aiming for a safe, happy, and comprehensively developed Da Nang.

On this occasion, the City Women's Union launched the application "AI Assistant - Women Understand the Law, Live Confidently"; simultaneously, it presented 40 gifts to orphaned children and women in difficult circumstances affected by the recent storms and floods; donated communication materials to 350 participating members; and organized training on crime prevention, social evils prevention, and gender equality skills for members and women throughout the city.

The Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence is held annually from November 15th to December 15th.
