Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that with valuable cultural resources, the orientation of tourism development in the new period is associated with preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage and historical traditions.
In the coming time, the department will advise the city on key solutions such as: reviewing and adjusting planning, projects, and plans according to the space and potential of the new city after the merger with the orientation of developing tourism and high-quality services associated with preserving and promoting cultural and historical values; taking the value of cultural heritage - historical traditions as the foundation and basis to create unique new tourism products.
The city identifies and expands two key high-quality tourism and service spaces.
It is a high-quality tourism, resort and entertainment space associated with green standards concentrated in coastal areas and both sides of the Han River; along Ba Na - Suoi Mo road and the western mountains; Son Tra peninsula; along Co Co river and potential areas south of the city.
Cultural - historical tourism space associated with preserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage and historical traditions includes cultural heritage tourism centers in Hoi An, My Son; tourism space of traditional craft villages along Thu Bon river; cultural - spiritual tourism center in Ngu Hanh Son mountain area; museum system and historical relics...
In addition, the city invests in road and waterway traffic systems and lighting systems connecting to tourist attractions, rest stops, cultural and historical relics, ethnic cultural tourism spots, and rural agricultural tourism spots.
In addition, develop tourism products associated with cultural heritage values, historical traditions, festivals, traditional craft villages; develop spiritual cultural tourism, "return to the source" tourism.
The city focuses on developing and innovating tourism products suitable for each type of customer, increasing services and experiences, focusing on products and services that are less dependent on weather factors such as culinary tourism, cultural tourism, and craft village tourism.
Traditional craft villages such as Thanh Ha pottery, Kim Bong carpentry, Hoi An lanterns, and Non Nuoc fine art stone are supported to develop in association with the community so that people are both the subjects and beneficiaries of the heritage.
Promoting its role as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the city effectively implements tasks and solutions to develop the cultural industry associated with building a creative city brand on the basis of heritage; proposes a number of mechanisms and policies to attract investors to develop the cultural industry, entertainment services to support the tourism industry, etc.
