Many tourism potentials need to be digitized.
Located along the Ca Lo River, Da Phuc commune possesses many advantages for developing green tourism with its unique natural landscape and ecological space. According to Do Thu Nga, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Phuc commune: Currently, the commune has 92 historical and cultural relics and places of worship. Of these, 6 are classified as national relics and 17 as city-level relics.
Some historical sites boast beautiful landscapes and architecture, such as the Duc Hau Temple and Pagoda complex; Phu Tang Temple; Thuong Temple; Ha Temple; Kim Thuong Temple; and Tien Tao Temple. The "Kéo Mỏ" ritual in Xuan Lai village is a unique ceremony and game, held on the 4th day of the first lunar month, associated with the Queen Mother Temple Festival, and was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2015. "Da Phuc commune has identified at least two key tourist areas and destinations by 2030. Through this, Da Phuc commune welcomes approximately over 10,000 tourists annually, with 15-20% being overnight visitors," shared Ms. Do Thu Nga.
Despite its potential to attract tourists, Da Phuc commune currently does not attract as many visitors as desired. Analyzing the reasons for the underdeveloped tourism in Da Phuc commune, Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Tourism Corporation, stated: Tourism products in the area are still very rudimentary, mainly focusing on visiting historical and cultural relics. More importantly, the locality lacks extensive promotional activities to help domestic and international tourists discover and experience the unique tourist destinations of Da Phuc.
Promoting destinations through digitalization.
According to tourism experts, in order to attract tourists, besides developing new tours and routes, Da Phuc commune also needs to promote digitalization, thereby improving the effectiveness of product promotion. Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association, Nguyen Manh Than, stated: Investing in technology and digitizing destinations will help tourism businesses reach potential customers and solve problems related to human resources, operating costs, and saving time.
To digitize destinations and promote tourism, Da Phuc commune has implemented the "Da Phuc Tour" smart tourism application. Vu Xuan Nguyen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IGB Group (the company providing the "Da Phuc Tour" smart tourism application), shared: The company has provided the "Da Phuc Tour Smart Tourism Software" with a digitized system structure. Specifically, it creates tours and digitizes tourism with various types of tourism including landmarks, cultural heritage sites, traditional tourism products, culinary culture, and accommodation. "Through the use of the Da Phuc Tour software, the locality will be able to digitize data and spread the ecological beauty of this land to tourists. With a user-friendly interface on mobile devices, the application helps tourists access information quickly, intuitively, and conveniently," Mr. Nguyen stated.
From a local perspective, Nguyen Hong Minh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Da Phuc commune, stated: The introduction of the "Da Phuc Tour" application has opened up opportunities for Da Phuc commune to position its image in the minds of tourists through a new and convenient approach. The "Da Phuc Tour" application is built as a smart tourism platform integrating many modern features such as introducing historical and cultural sites, digital maps, tour guides, local information lookup, and updates on outstanding cultural activities.
Recognizing the benefits that the "Da Phuc Tour" application brings to the locality, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Ha Van Sieu, stated: This will be a solid foundation to promote digital transformation in the local tourism sector. It will create practical economic, cultural, and social values for the community. It will open up many opportunities for cooperation, investment, and business development in tourism in the future; increase the attractiveness of destinations and tourism products; improve the quality of services and experiences for tourists; and encourage the community and businesses to participate in tourism development to attract more tourists to Da Phuc.
Notably, Da Phuc is the first commune in Hanoi to implement smart tourism software applications for local tourism development, gradually realizing the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, while also adhering to the orientation of Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on the development of Vietnamese culture associated with heritage preservation and the promotion of cultural values in sustainable development.
"The launch of the 'Da Phuc Tour' application will contribute to enhancing the local image in the digital environment, promoting tourism development associated with the preservation of traditional culture, and creating further impetus for the digital transformation process in Da Phuc in the future," Mr. Ha Van Sieu stated.
