On May 19, at the headquarters of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital Sofia, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented a copy of her Letter of Credence to Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented a copy of her Letter of Credence to Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet conveyed the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son to Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev; affirmed that she will make every effort to contribute to promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria to develop more strongly for the benefit of the people of the two countries, towards the goal of Strategic Partnership.

Also at the meeting, the Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with Bulgaria, emphasizing that the depth of traditional relations is an important condition for mutual cooperation and development in the new situation; highly appreciating the results achieved in recent times, notably the two countries maintaining high-level delegation exchanges, enhancing cooperation in all fields through the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism; regularly coordinating well and effectively in terms of stance and viewpoints on issues of mutual concern, and supporting each other's candidacy for important positions and international organizations.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also proposed a number of upcoming directions to promote bilateral relations, including the two sides coordinating to organize local activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries; preparing for visits by high-ranking leaders; enhancing cooperation in areas such as politics - diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchange.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also thanked and requested the Bulgarian Government to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to integrate stably and make good contributions to the host society.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also proposed some upcoming directions to promote relations between the two countries.

For her part, Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova welcomed Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet to Bulgaria to take up her duties, affirming that she will create the best conditions for the Ambassador to fulfill her duties, contributing to strengthening Bulgaria-Vietnam relations.

Appreciating the good relationship between Bulgaria and Vietnam built on the foundation of friendship and mutual trust, Ms. Elena Shekerletova expressed her admiration for Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent times and hoped that the two countries would take concrete steps to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation in the coming time.

Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova also emphasized the importance of Vietnam in Bulgaria's foreign policy in Southeast Asia; agreed to continue promoting high-level delegation exchanges, enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic field, to increase trade turnover between the two countries, as well as coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral forums.
