Expanding the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung inter-district martyrs cemetery

The number of graves left at the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung inter-district martyrs' cemetery (formerly Long An province) is very small, while the demand for burial of martyrs' remains is expected to be very high. Given the above situation, the province has invested in expanding this cemetery.

The Vinh Hung - Tan Hung inter-district martyrs cemetery is being upgraded and expanded.

The Vinh Hung - Tan Hung inter-district martyrs' cemetery was invested in and built in the late 1990s with a scale of 3,350 graves. Through many stages of searching, exhuming, and gathering remains, up to now, 3,200 graves have been buried for heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the wars against French colonialism, American imperialism, and the Southwestern border war. In particular, it is the resting place of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who fought and sacrificed their lives in Cambodia.

It is expected that the demand for burial of martyrs' remains is very large, while the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung Inter-district Martyrs' Cemetery no longer has graves to bury martyrs' remains as requested. In response to this situation, the province has invested in expanding the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung Inter-district Martyrs' Cemetery.

The project to expand the Vinh Hung - Tan Hung inter-district martyrs cemetery covers an area of about 3.9 hectares, with a total investment of about 111 billion VND. The investment scale includes roads, ceremony grounds, funeral homes, fences, trees, lighting and more than 5,000 graves,...

Currently, the province is investing in construction of an area of about 1 hectare, including fences, roads, ceremony grounds, water supply and drainage systems, lighting, trees, rockery and 882 reinforced concrete and granite tombstones. The total investment is 20 billion VND, from the provincial budget./.
