Tay Ninh urgently establishes Steering Committees for 389 communes and wards before October 20

Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut requested leaders of People's Committees of communes and wards to urgently establish Steering Committees against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (referred to as Steering Committee 389) at the commune level, based on Decision No. 2184/QD-UBND, dated August 11, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Accordingly, the 389 Steering Committee at the commune level is headed by the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune or ward; its members are representatives of departments, offices and functional forces in the locality. The Economic Department is assigned as the standing unit, responsible for advising, assisting, synthesizing and periodically reporting on the activities of the 389 Steering Committee.

The Provincial People's Committee requested to complete the establishment of the 389 Steering Committee at the commune level and send the decision to the Provincial People's Committee no later than October 20, 2025.

Along with that, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the heads of relevant departments and branches to proactively deploy the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in the last months of 2025; be responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the assigned state management areas.

Departments and branches are required to develop coordination regulations, review and perfect inter-sectoral inspection teams in a streamlined, effective and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with legal regulations; at the same time, thoroughly overcome shortcomings and limitations in coordination work, enhance responsibility, and tighten discipline in the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 389, in the coming time, localities need to strengthen monitoring, grasp the local situation, promptly inspect and prevent smuggling and trading of prohibited goods; at the same time, focus on inspecting essential and highly consumed goods such as: clothing, food, alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics, modern medicine, functional foods, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.

In addition, units need to focus on checking the implementation of legal regulations on prices, measurements, quality, prevention of counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights and manifestations of speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases, contributing to maintaining market stability and protecting consumer rights in the province./.
