1,200 people attended the 1st Linh Nam Ward Sports Festival

HNP - On the morning of October 18, at the Ward Sports Ground, Linh Nam Ward held the opening ceremony of the 1st Ward Sports Festival in 2025. The event attracted the participation of more than 1,200 people including athletes, performers and a large number of people.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Linh Nam Ward, Nguyen Van Duc, quoted Uncle Ho's teachings: "To preserve democracy, build the country, and build a new life, everything requires good health to be successful. If each citizen is healthy, the whole country is healthy."

The 1st Linh Nam Ward Sports Festival is a great festival for all people, an opportunity to evaluate the results of the mass sports movement; at the same time, discover and nurture outstanding sports talents, creating a source of athletes to participate in the City Sports Festival in the coming time.

The congress attracted nearly 500 athletes, representing the Party, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward, mass organizations, residential groups, schools, units, agencies, and businesses in the area, competing in many events and age groups. This is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of solidarity, health training, and enthusiastic competition among all classes of people in the ward.

It is known that with 8 competition events including sports loved by the people, the 1st Linh Nam Ward Sports Festival attracted 100% of residential groups, units, departments and organizations to participate.

The first Linh Nam Ward Sports Congress is an event to celebrate the success of the first Linh Nam Ward Congress, term 2025-2030, the 18th City Party Congress and the 14th National Congress of the Party. Through the Congress, it contributes to propagating and creating a profound change in the awareness of the Party and the whole society about the benefits and role of physical training and sports; improving the quality of mass sports movements, creating conditions for the development of ethnic and traditional sports in the area. In addition, this is also an opportunity to discover and nurture outstanding athletes as the core of the ward sports movement, selecting athletes to participate in city-level sports competitions.
