Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh respectfully conveyed the congratulations of Comrade Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos, to Comrade Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, and the collective leadership and all cadres, civil servants and public employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
Speaking at the reception, the Lao Ambassador warmly congratulated the great and comprehensive achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved over the past 80 years, including the extremely important contributions of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector, especially the solid political and social stability, dynamic economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and constantly improving its international position. The Ambassador highly appreciated the fact that Vietnam is currently among the 30 largest economies in the world, has diplomatic relations with 194 countries and territories, and is a trade partner of over 200 global markets.
On behalf of Minister Bui Thanh Son, the Ministry's leadership and all officials, civil servants and employees of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his deep gratitude for the warm feelings and congratulations of the Ambassador and the staff of the Lao Embassy. He emphasized that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always appreciate the loyal and steadfast solidarity that the Lao Party, State and people have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence as well as in the current cause of national construction and development.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos relationship is a special and rare relationship in the world, built by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Suphanouvong, and constantly preserved and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen close and effective coordination between the two Foreign Ministries in the coming time, especially in implementing agreements between the two countries' senior leaders, preparing well for important visits and commemorative activities, and promoting consultation and coordination of positions at regional and international forums. Thereby, contributing to protecting national interests, enhancing the position of each country in the international arena, while consolidating and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of solidarity, vividly demonstrating the close and loyal relationship between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs in particular and Vietnam and Laos in general.
