Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Lukashevich, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Transport of Belarus and Deputy General Director of Belavia Airlines attended the press conference officially announcing the Minsk – Phu Quoc route.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Lukashevich affirmed that the new flight route is the first result of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He emphasized: "Relations between Belarus and Vietnam are developing very positively in the political and economic fields, in which both sides are very interested in promoting tourism development. Opening the Minsk - Phu Quoc flight route will contribute to realizing this cooperation potential."
He assessed that the 30-day visa exemption policy in Vietnam for Belarusian citizens has "opened up great opportunities for Belarusian people to explore a beautiful and hospitable country".

Speaking to the press, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung emphasized: "The launch of the first direct flight is a historic milestone, the first concrete step to implement the agreement between the two countries' senior leaders during General Secretary To Lam's state visit to Belarus in May 2025."
The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam has a tradition of hospitality and that Vietnam has many unique places that attract tourists to explore and experience. Vietnam attaches importance to developing tourism between the two countries, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchange and strengthening solidarity between the two nations.

Mr. Gleb Parkhamovich, First Deputy CEO of Belavia, affirmed that flights to Vietnam are a top priority for the airline.
"This is an important event for us. We are not only stopping at Phu Quoc but are also considering other resort destinations in Vietnam for future charter flights," said Mr. Parkhamovich.
He also revealed that the flight network expansion was made possible by Belavia adding more Airbus A330-200 aircraft to its fleet.

According to the plan, charter flights from Minsk to Phu Quoc will be operated every 11 days, including both economy and business class. Tourists can book tickets through tour packages provided by Belarusian travel agencies.
The first flight was fully booked with 281 passengers. A representative of the travel company AeroBel Service, which booked the charter flight, said the unit had sold out all tickets for flights until March 2026, and predicted that in the 2025-2026 tourist season, the number of visitors to Vietnam via Belavia flights could reach nearly 10,000.
Direct air connection between Belarus and Vietnam is an important step in the efforts of both sides to bring people of the two countries to visit each other, thereby developing tourism and economic exchange.
