The two leaders affirmed the importance of the special Vietnam-Laos relationship in the context of rapid and complex changes in the region and the world.

The two sides have successfully implemented high-level agreements. Ministries, branches, and all levels from central to local levels, as well as businesses of the two countries, have proactively implemented memoranda of understanding for cooperation in an active, effective, and practical manner.

Close political relations continue to be a solid foundation, creating momentum to promote cooperation development in all fields.

The two sides highly appreciated the increasingly close and effective defense-security cooperation, which continues to be promoted and affirmed as an important pillar in the bilateral relationship. The two sides have successfully coordinated and organized many projects, contributing to supporting Laos in strengthening its defense-security potential, and organizing and implementing quality and effective cooperation plans and programs.

Vietnam and Laos have done a good job in searching for, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

The two countries will strengthen coordination with Cambodia to implement the results of the high-level meeting between the leaders of the three parties; coordinate to reach consensus on long-term development orientations, and give top priority to the close, close, and strategic relationship between the three countries.

Economic, trade and investment cooperation has been given attention and promoted, with many positive changes. Leaders of the two countries have closely directed and ensured that key cooperation projects are implemented on schedule, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people of the two countries.

The fields of culture, education, science and technology have been given attention, promoted and achieved many practical results. Cooperation between Party committees, ministries, branches of the Government, agencies, and people-to-people exchanges between central and local mass organizations have been promoted.

The two leaders affirmed that they will continue to strengthen and deepen the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos through cooperation mechanisms and the establishment and organization of new mechanisms.

The two sides affirmed to work together to deepen the relationship between the two Parties and two countries, considering this a core pillar guiding the overall strategy for the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The consistent policy of the two Parties and two States is to always stand side by side, support and help each other.

Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam relations are always a top priority in each country's foreign policy; they are exemplary relationships of long-term strategic significance, and are one of the decisive factors for the victory of the revolutionary cause in each country.

The two sides affirmed that they will closely coordinate on strategic issues related to security and development, and jointly prepare to successfully organize the National Congress of each Party.

The two leaders emphasized and affirmed the strategic importance of further strengthening the pillars of defense, security and foreign affairs cooperation, considering this one of the important pillars of the special Vietnam-Laos relationship.

The two countries will consider building new and appropriate cooperation mechanisms. The leaders of the two sides also agreed to continue exchanging information, consulting on positions, closely coordinating and supporting each other at international and regional forums.

Promoting bilateral trade turnover growth to soon reach the target of 5 billion USD

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone highly appreciated the results achieved in cooperation between the two countries.

In terms of economy, the two sides agreed to promote trade and investment cooperation, considering this an important pillar of the Vietnam-Laos strategic partnership. The two countries will strengthen connectivity and complementarity between the two economies; actively remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process.

The two sides exchanged many orientations and measures to improve the effectiveness of economic and trade cooperation; in particular emphasizing the need to create a strong, breakthrough change in economic, trade and investment development cooperation, making this field a strategic pillar, commensurate with the stature of political relations as well as the potential of each country.

The two sides agreed to promote growth in bilateral trade turnover to soon reach the target of 5 billion USD and aim for the 10 billion USD mark.

The two countries will prioritize handling outstanding problems and promoting connectivity, in which the two sides will focus resources on implementing key infrastructure connection projects such as the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway project, promoting the implementation of the Vietnam - Laos industrial park model, and cross-border gate economy on the East - West economic corridor.

Vietnam and Laos will also build an investment and business environment and connect infrastructure to facilitate sustainable development of businesses of the two countries and enhance mutual support.

Vietnam and Laos will expand cooperation between Party, State, Fatherland Front, mass and people's organizations; enhance coordination and mutual support in socio-economic development, as well as ensure security and stability in border areas.
