The 32nd SEA Games ended with a resounding success for the Vietnamese sports delegation, winning the overall title with 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals and 118 bronze medals. This was the most impressive SEA Games in Vietnam's history, as although not the host, it still topped the overall rankings.
Thailand came in second with 108 gold, 96 silver and 108 bronze medals, followed by Indonesia in third place with 87 gold, 80 silver and 109 bronze medals. Hosts Cambodia also made history by finishing fourth with 81 gold, 74 silver and 127 bronze medals – their highest ever tally.
Heading to the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation aims to win from 91 to 110 gold medals, thereby maintaining its position in the leading group in the region and continuing to affirm the stature of the country's sports in the Southeast Asian arena.
