2024 Olympic medal tally on the evening of August 4: China won consecutive gold medals

The Chinese sports delegation continued to hold the No. 1 position in the medal tally of the 2024 Paris Olympics after winning 2 more gold medals on the competition day of August 4.

The Chinese sports delegation is competing impressively on August 4 when they consecutively won 2 more gold medals in Table Tennis and Gymnastics.

Fan Zhendong "opened" the day for the Chinese Sports Delegation with a Gold medal in the Men's Singles Table Tennis event.

In the final, Fan Zhendong came from behind to win against Swedish player Truls Moregard after 5 sets with the scores of 7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-8 and 11-8.

This is Fan Zhendong's second gold medal in his career at the Olympics, after doing the same in the team event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

With Fan Zhendong's achievements, the Chinese Table Tennis Team won a total of three Gold medals in table tennis at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

China's two previous table tennis gold medals belonged to Chen Meng (women's singles) and Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha (mixed doubles).

The second gold medal of the Chinese delegation today belongs to athlete Liu Yang in the rings event of Gymnastics.

Liu Yang won the Gold medal after finishing the competition with 15.300 points, ahead of teammate Zou Jingyuan (15.233 points), and Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece (15.100 points).

As of 9:00 p.m., the Chinese Sports Delegation with 18 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 9 bronze medals continued to top the medal tally of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Chinese team is now widening the gap with the US team by 4 gold medals. China still has many events where they can win gold medals in today's competition.

The US sports delegation has only won 14 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 23 bronze medals - an achievement that has not met expectations.

The French sports delegation only had 1 more Bronze medal on August 3, thereby maintaining third place in the medal table with 12 Gold medals, 14 Silver medals and 16 Bronze medals.

The Australian sports delegation also has 12 Gold medals but is behind the host delegation in terms of Silver and Bronze medals.

The UK sports delegation has 10 Gold medals, 10 Silver medals and 14 Bronze medals, ranking 5th. However, Korea is very close to equaling the number of Gold medals after the victory of archer Kim Woojin in Archery.

Kim Woojin won a thrilling match against American opponent Brady Ellison, when the two archers tied and had to go into a deciding 5th game.

In the deciding game, Brady Ellison shot a 10, but Kim Woojin also scored the same but the arrow was closer to the center of the bull's eye, to win the Gold medal. This is also Korea's 5th Archery Gold medal at the 2024 Olympics.

Positions 7, 8 and 9 on the 2024 Olympic medal table currently belong to Japan, Italy and the Netherlands, respectively.

The German sports delegation won another Gold medal today to return to the top 10 with a total of 5 Gold medals, 5 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals.

Germany's Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl won the Gold medal after winning the Equestrian Showmanship event. The Silver medal was won by Isabell Werth (Germany) and Bronze was won by Charlotte Fry (Great Britain).

The 2024 Paris Olympics had a total of 64 sports delegations win at least 1 Bronze medal.

Notably, Southeast Asian sports delegations began to win medals when competing in their strong sports.

The Philippines is the first sports delegation from Southeast Asia to win a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics, temporarily ranking 32nd in the rankings.

The person who brought home the Gold medal for the Philippine sports delegation at the 2024 Olympics is gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo.
