Paris 2024 Olympic medal tally on the morning of August 4: US close to China

The US sports delegation won 5 more gold medals on the competition day of August 3 to accelerate to close in on China's top spot in the medal tally of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The US sports delegation is closely following the Chinese delegation in the race for the top spot in the medal table of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The US sports delegation had the most successful competition day on August 3 since the 2024 Olympics started when they won 5 gold medals in Shooting, Gymnastics, Shot Put and Swimming.

Vincent Hancock was the "opener" for the impressive day of competition for the US Sports Delegation when he won the Gold medal in Shooting.

Right after Hancock, Simone Biles had an excellent performance to win the women's vault. This is Biles' third gold medal and her second individual gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Simone Biles won with a total score of 15.300, far ahead of Silver medalist Rebeca Andrade (total score of 14.966) and Jade Carey (Bronze medal, 14.466 points).

The third gold medal of the day for the United States went to Ryan Crouser in the shot put, after he completed his program with a shot put of 22.90m.

Katie Ledecky also won the Gold medal in the women's 800m swimming event after finishing the race with a time of 8 minutes 11 seconds 04.

This achievement helps Katie Ledecky go through her fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal in the 800m freestyle swimming event.

This is also the 14th Olympic medal in the career of the swimmer who turns 27 this year.

The final gold medal for the US team on August 3rd went to the boys of the Swimming Team when they finished in first place in the 4x100m medley relay.

The US team finished the 4x100m medley relay in 3 minutes 37.43 seconds, winning the gold medal and setting a world record.

The athletes' impressive performance has brought the US Sports Team from 5th place to second place, approaching China in the 2024 Olympic medal table. The US currently has 14 Gold medals, 24 Silver medals and 23 Bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Sports Delegation is leading with 16 Gold medals, 12 Silver medals and 9 Bronze medals.

Yesterday, Chinese player Chen Meng defeated compatriot Sun Yingsha in the women's singles table tennis final to win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a final score of 4-2.

Soon after, the pair of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan defeated compatriots Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning 2-0 in the final of the Badminton women's doubles, to win the Gold medal.

China's notable Gold medal on August 3 was its historic medal in tennis.

Zheng Qinwen made Chinese tennis history by becoming the first athlete to win a gold medal in singles at an Olympic Games.

In the final, Zheng Qinwen easily defeated Croatian Donna Vekic 6-2 6-3 to win gold at the 2024 Olympics.

On yesterday's competition day, the host team France and the Australian team only won 1 more gold medal to rank third and fourth in the 2024 Olympic medal tally.

The host team France currently has a total of 12 Gold, 14 Silver and 15 Bronze medals; while Australia has 12, 8 and 7 medals respectively.

The next positions in the top 10 of the 2024 Olympic medal table belong to the delegations of the United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada, respectively.

Up to this point, 62 sports delegations have won medals at the 2024 Olympics, of which 40 have gold.

Notably, the Philippines is the first sports delegation from Southeast Asia to win a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics, temporarily ranking 32nd in the rankings.

The person who brought home the Gold medal for the Philippine sports delegation at the 2024 Olympics is gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo.

Carlos Yulo won a total of 15,000 points in the men's freestyle (all-around, floor and vault) competition, to surpass Artem Dolgopyat (Israel, 14,966 points) and Jake Jarman (Great Britain, 14,933 points) respectively.

Carlos Yulo still has a chance to win another Gold medal when he competes in the vault on August 4.
