Establishment of Council, Advisory Council to evaluate and classify OCOP products

(CT) - Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2735/QD-UBND to establish the Council and Advisory Council for the evaluation and classification of OCOP products of Can Tho City.

Delegates visited and learned about products displayed at a meeting to evaluate and classify OCOP products organized by the city.

The Council for Evaluation and Classification of OCOP Products of Can Tho City (abbreviated as OCOP Council) is chaired by Mr. Tran Chi Hung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Ngo Thai Chan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment is Vice Chairman. The Advisory Group of the Council for Evaluation and Classification of OCOP Products of Can Tho City (abbreviated as Advisory Group) is headed by Mr. Le Van Tinh, Deputy Chief of the Office for Coordination of the National Target Program on New Rural Development.

The OCOP Council is responsible for assisting the Chairman of the City People's Committee in directing the implementation of the organization of evaluation and classification of OCOP products. At the same time, synthesizing the evaluation results and submitting them to the City People's Committee to issue decisions and issue certificates for 3-star and 4-star products, organizing the announcement of results to ensure seriousness and economy; advising the Chairman of the City People's Committee to issue decisions approving the scoring results, transferring documents and sample products of products with the potential to achieve 5 stars (from 90 to 100 points) to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to evaluate and recognize national OCOP products. The OCOP Council Advisory Group is responsible for advising and assisting the City OCOP Council in organizing the evaluation and classification of the city's OCOP products.

The Office of the National Target Program Coordination for New Rural Development is the standing agency of the City OCOP Council, which receives dossiers proposing product evaluation and classification from commune and ward levels. At the same time, it checks the format, notifies and guides the completion of dossiers (if necessary); is responsible for arranging facilities, equipment and other conditions to ensure the Council operates according to regulations.
