Dong Nai 2 Bridge Project, also known as Long Hung Bridge, is a key infrastructure project that is about to be built by Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province. With a total estimated investment of more than 11,700 billion VND, this bridge is expected to reduce traffic pressure on Long Thanh Bridge on Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway and the existing Dong Nai Bridge.
More importantly, Dong Nai 2 Bridge will create a strategic connection from Ring Road 3 through Thu Duc City to Long Thanh International Airport, a key airport project in the Southern region expected to come into operation in 2026.

Project planning and scale
According to information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the Long Hung bridge project has been approved for Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) as the proposed investor under the public-private partnership (PPP) method. The entire route has a total length of about 11.7 km, designed according to urban main road standards with a speed of 80 km/h.
The cross-section of the route includes 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles. Specifically about the route:
- Starting point: Intersection with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 at Go Cong intersection (Long Phuoc ward, Thu Duc city).
- End point: Intersection with National Highway 51 (An Phuoc commune, Dong Nai province).
The project is divided into three main components:
- Long Hung bridge section is 2.4 km long.
- The road leading to Ho Chi Minh City is 3.8 km long.
- The Dong Nai approach road is 5.5 km long.

Current status and implementation
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee will be the project's governing body. Since the route passes through both localities, the investor will closely coordinate with relevant departments and branches to study the route, update the planning and determine compensation costs and resettlement support.
Currently, the area where the project is expected to be implemented is mostly vacant land, temporary houses, land for planting trees and ponds, which is expected to facilitate site clearance work.

Economic impact and regional connectivity
When completed, the project will not only solve the traffic problem but also be a lever for socio-economic development for the entire region. The project will shorten travel time, promote trade, attract investment and form a seamless development corridor between two major economic centers.
In addition, Dong Nai 2 Bridge will directly connect large urban areas along the Dong Nai River such as Aqua City, Long Hung, Amata, Long Thanh golf urban area, contributing to promoting the development of the riverside urban space axis.

Other key connectivity projects
Dong Nai 2 Bridge is part of a master plan of 8 road and bridge projects to enhance connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. In addition to Dong Nai 2 Bridge, other notable projects include Cat Lai Bridge and Phu My 2 Bridge.
- Cat Lai Bridge: Total length of nearly 12 km, connecting Thu Duc City with Nhon Trach District, total estimated capital of more than 20,000 billion VND.
- Phu My 2 Bridge: Total length of nearly 15 km, connecting Nha Be district with Nhon Trach district, total estimated capital of nearly 13,000 billion VND.
Along with that, the Huong Lo 2 project (section from National Highway 51 to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway) has also been approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council for investment in the form of PPP with a total capital of more than VND 5,800 billion, creating a synchronous traffic network for the area.
