On the afternoon of December 1, Can Tho City People's Committee held a press conference to provide information about the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025.
Accordingly, the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025 is organized by the People's Committee of Can Tho City in coordination with Olabay Vietnam Joint Stock Company with the theme "Can Tho - Colors of Rivers".
The festival will take place from December 26, 2025 to January 1, 2026 at Ben Ninh Kieu Park (Ninh Kieu ward), Song Hau Park (Cai Khe ward) and neighboring areas.
At the press conference, Mr. Le Minh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that the highlight of the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025 is the attractive activities that attract tourists.
Specifically, the opening night of "Colors of Rivers", the highlight of the festival will take place at 6:30 p.m. on December 26 at the Pedestrian Bridge - Ben Ninh Kieu Park with colorfully decorated boats following each other on the Hau River, blending with the sounds of traditional music echoing between the wharf and the boats, interspersed with street dance performances, vibrant lion - dragon dances on the central streets of the city, bringing a bustling, joyful atmosphere, imbued with the identity of the river delta region.
At the same time, within the framework of the festival, there are also many attractive and meaningful activities such as the Waterway Tourism Stimulus Program; River Environmental Protection Activities; Workshop to improve safety knowledge and skills on the river; Water Sports Experience Area; Photo Exhibition "Rhythm of Life on the River - The West Past and Present"; Releasing flower lanterns on the river; Workshop "Can Tho City Tourism - A Breakthrough Development Boost"; Culinary Promotion Program; Sailboat Racing; Flyboard Performance and the Can Tho City Open Composite Hull Racing Championship in 2025...
In addition to the main activities, during the festival days, communes and wards in the city also proactively develop and register cultural, sports and tourism activities... in response to the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025, suitable to the actual conditions of the locality; ensuring practicality and effectiveness, associated with the propaganda and promotion of the Festival and contributing to raising public awareness in protecting the river environment and urban landscape.
Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025 is an opportunity to introduce and promote the unique river culture of the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho city in particular to people and tourists at home and abroad.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee, the Can Tho River Culture Festival was held for the first time in Can Tho City to create a cultural and tourism highlight, contributing to enriching the typical tourism products of the Southern river region.
In addition, the event also contributes to raising public awareness in preserving the river ecological environment, encouraging sustainable tourism development and connecting river tourism between Can Tho city and Ho Chi Minh city, the Mekong Delta provinces and countries along the Mekong River.
