On November 16, Tra Vinh Provincial Police said that after 2 months of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh, Director of the Provincial Police, publicly announcing the hotline number to receive feedback, there have been hundreds of calls and instructions to handle them properly.
Accordingly, Tra Vinh Police said that there were more than 300 calls to the hotline number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh, including more than 140 reports and denunciations of crimes, violations of property rights, violations of public safety, public order, and economic management order.
Many calls highly appreciated the fact that Tra Vinh Police made public the "hotline" phone number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh, demonstrating the determination and responsibility of the head of the provincial police in receiving and resolving incidents related to security and order, while at the same time rectifying the internal affairs and building a clean and strong provincial police force.
The Director of Tra Vinh Provincial Police has directed the handling of nearly 70 crime reports, denunciations, and people's reflections and recommendations.
Specifically, Colonel Tran Xuan Anh directed professional units and local police to investigate, clarify, and prosecute 6 criminal cases; prosecute and temporarily detain 10 defendants for fraud, appropriation of property, lending at high interest rates in civil transactions, and organizing illegal use of drugs.
The police are also consolidating files to handle 2 gambling cases; handling 7 administrative violations in the fields of traffic, environment, unlicensed business, property theft, etc.
In addition, the Director of Tra Vinh Police Department directed the verification and response to more than 50 people's complaints related to administrative procedures, work processes, and etiquette and demeanor of police officers and soldiers.
Directly direct the handling of crimes
Mr. H., who works in seafood trading in Duyen Hai district (Tra Vinh province), received a friend request on Zalo from an account named Wholesale and retail of all kinds of seafood and ordered 300kg of shrimp from him, worth more than 48 million VND, and requested delivery to Dau Giay wholesale market and a bus station in Dong Nai province.
When arriving at the delivery point, Mr. H. requested to transfer money first before delivering the goods. The other side sent a Zalo message with a picture of the successful money transfer receipt according to the recipient information and account number that Mr. H. provided, so he delivered the goods.
However, the next morning, Mr. H. discovered that his bank account had not received the transfer. He called the buyer and the recipient but could not be reached. Realizing that he had been scammed, Mr. H. called the hotline of the Provincial Police Director to report the news to clarify and handle the subject.
Colonel Tran Xuan Anh directed the professional units and Duyen Hai District Police to verify the information provided by the victim. Through investigation, the police identified Lam Bich Thuan (28 years old, residing in Hamlet 1, Song Doc Town, Tran Van Thoi District, Ca Mau Province) as the person who scammed Mr. H.
Police urgently arrested suspect Lam Bich Thuan at a motel in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province, when he was preparing to commit fraud using the same method.
