A police captain from Krong No district ( Dak Nong ) traveled more than 60km at night to donate platelets to save the lives of two newborn babies less than a month old.
On November 10, Dak Nong Provincial Police confirmed that Captain Dinh Van Giap - an officer of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Krong No District Police, donated platelets twice in one night to save the lives of two children.
Accordingly, on the evening of November 9, the Steering Committee of the "Volunteer Red Soldier" model of the Krong No District Police received information that a baby less than a month old, residing in Khanh Xuan Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ) urgently needed platelet B.
The child had sepsis, respiratory failure, severe thrombocytopenia and was in critical condition, being treated at the Central Highlands General Hospital.
Upon receiving the information, the Steering Committee of the "Volunteer Red Soldier" model mobilized Captain Dinh Van Giap (who has blood type B) to travel 60km to the hospital to donate platelets.
While donating platelets to the baby, Captain Dinh Van Giap continued to receive information that a 10-day-old newborn, residing in Cu Pui commune, Krong Bong district (Dak Lak), had just arrived at the emergency room in a state of sepsis, with a severe decrease in platelets and also urgently needed platelet B.

Currently, the two children are out of danger.
