Dak Lak proactively responds to the impact of storm No. 5

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 12:00 on August 25, storm No. 5 (storm Kajiki) was about 85 km east-southeast of Nghe An province, about 65 km east-east of Ha Tinh, and about 135 km east-northeast of Bac Quang Tri.

The strongest wind is level 13 (134 - 149 km/h), gusting to level 16. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will move in the West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 15 km/h. This is a strong storm, with heavy rain and strong gusts of wind, directly affecting the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue City.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 5, the Department of Agriculture and Environment - the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, requested localities and units to: Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the storm; maintain communication, prepare response plans and mobilize forces to promptly handle possible bad situations.

The Border Guard Command - Provincial Military Command, Phu Yen Coastal Information Station, Department of Fisheries and Seas and Islands coordinate with coastal localities to promptly and fully inform captains and owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

According to a quick report, Dak Lak province currently has more than 3,019 fishing boats, with more than 12,540 workers. Of these, 528 boats/2,874 workers are operating at sea; the rest are anchored on shore. By region, there are 424 boats/2,325 workers operating in the sea from Quang Ngai province to Ho Chi Minh City; 24 boats/113 workers in the sea from Dong Thap to An Giang; 70 boats/436 workers in the sea of ​​Truong Sa archipelago. Regarding transport boats, there are 3 boats/55 workers anchored in Vung Ro bay.

To date, all fishing boats in Dak Lak province have been brought to safe anchorage; hundreds of aquaculture cages have been firmly reinforced. The communication system remains uninterrupted, ensuring timely reporting to superiors and close coordination with the authorities and functional forces in handling situations.

In the Cu Mong lagoon area, where more than 400 aquaculture cages are concentrated, officers and soldiers of Xuan Hoa Border Guard Station went directly to each farming area to guide people on how to anchor, tie cages, and reinforce temporary houses along the shore. At the same time, the unit propagated and called on fishermen not to go to sea during dangerous times, strictly comply with the sea ban; promptly informed ship owners far away to quickly move to safe shelters...

In addition, Dak Lak province's functional forces have also synchronously deployed many measures to ensure the safety of life and property of people and fishermen in the area.
