Dak Lak celebrates 120 years since the province's establishment.

On the evening of November 22nd, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province solemnly organized a ceremony to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22nd, 1904 - November 22nd, 2024), attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh .


On the evening of November 22nd, at 10/3 Square in Buon Ma Thuot City, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province solemnly organized the ceremony commemorating the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province (November 22nd, 1904 - November 22nd, 2024).

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, stated that since its establishment, the province has undergone many stages of transformation and development alongside the nation's history.

During the nation's protracted resistance wars, the people of Dak Lak contributed their manpower and resources, bravely fighting and sacrificing themselves amidst bombs and bullets, including more than 9,500 martyrs, more than 7,600 wounded soldiers; and 641 mothers were awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother.

For nearly 50 years, the province, along with the rest of the country, has carried out two strategic tasks: building and defending the socialist Fatherland, and implementing the reform process initiated and led by the Party.

Throughout its 120-year history of establishment and development, Dak Lak has become a relatively prosperous province in the Central-Central Highlands region; it has one of the largest natural areas and populations in the country; it is a leading province in terms of area and production of coffee, pepper, and durian; and it is an important transportation hub in the Central Highlands.

The province's economy maintained a relatively high growth rate; its gross domestic product ranked first in the Central Highlands region.

During the period 2021-2023, average economic growth reached 7% per year, and the size of the economy continued to expand; the average GRDP per capita in 2024 is estimated to reach nearly 75 million VND.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated and commended the efforts and achievements that the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Dak Lak province have made in the past period.

Looking ahead, in order to achieve sustainable development and live up to its position as the central hub and driving force of the Central Highlands region, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province to closely follow the directives of the Central Government, seize every opportunity, overcome all difficulties and challenges, mobilize the entire political system and the people of the province, and strive to achieve the goal of making Dak Lak "a province with ecological space, unique identity, creative connectivity, and a favorite and livable destination" by 2050.

Mobilize combined strengths, effectively exploit development potential and advantages, and strongly promote new growth drivers, especially digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, and new industries, fields, and high technologies.

Innovate the economic model, focusing on developing large-scale, high-quality, advantageous agricultural and forestry products for export.

Promoting agricultural activities, processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, and renewable energy production; building urban economies, digital infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and irrigation systems;

Developing services, logistics, and tourism based on digital transformation; preserving cultural heritage values; and selecting economic activities that are consistent with local cultural characteristics.

"Building a clean, strong, honest, proactive political system that serves the people; reorganizing the political system's apparatus to be streamlined, efficient, effective, and effective with high determination;

Strengthening discipline and order; promoting decentralization and delegation of power; reforming administration and improving the investment environment;

Encourage officials at all levels to be dynamic, innovative, creative, daring to think, daring to act, daring to make breakthroughs, and daring to take responsibility for the common good; continue to strengthen the fight against corruption, negative practices, and waste.

Developing socio-economic aspects, protecting the environment, ensuring social welfare; ensuring national defense, security, and social order and safety;

Firmly protect national independence, sovereignty, and borders; enhance the effectiveness of foreign relations and international integration.

Furthermore, it is essential to always recognize that the task of fostering, preserving, and strengthening solidarity among ethnic groups is the "key" to building a more peaceful, prosperous, and happy locality," Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong announced the Decision and presented the Certificate recognizing the "Collection of Thac Hai rock drill bits" as a National Treasure to Dak Lak province.

In addition, the National Institute of Records has verified and established three national records for the province: Dak Lak is the province with the largest coffee growing area in Vietnam (reaching 212,106 hectares); Lak Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in the Central Highlands of Vietnam (over 500 hectares, at an altitude of nearly 417 meters above sea level); and Yok Don National Park is the largest national park preserving the dry dipterocarp forest ecosystem in Vietnam.
