Dak Lak province has planned to allocate approximately 7,594 hectares of land for concentrated livestock farming by 2030 in order to attract large enterprises and corporations to invest in livestock production.

Dak Lak currently possesses the second largest area of ​​natural grasslands in the country, creating many advantages for developing large-scale livestock farming. The province has 617 cooperatives, 227 cooperative groups, and 937 farms involved in cattle farming, contributing to the development of the livestock industry towards concentrated, large-scale commercial production.

The total number of main livestock in the province currently stands at 22.28 million, of which the cattle herd accounts for 402,510 head, representing approximately 1.8% of the total livestock population in the province.

The cattle breed structure is quite diverse, including local yellow cattle; Zebu crossbreds such as Sind and Brahman; and many high-quality breeds such as purebred Brahman, Droughtmaster, Red Angus, BBB (Blanc Bleu Belge), Charolais, and several other high-yielding breeds that have been imported and crossbred.
