Dak Lak strengthens connections and expands cooperation to develop tourism

On the afternoon of October 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province held a conference to review and evaluate the results of tourism cooperation between the province and 17 provinces and cities across the country, for the period 2019-2024.

Attending the conference were Ms. H'Yim Kđoh - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Tourism , Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT and DL) of 5 Central Highlands provinces and provinces and cities signing with Dak Lak.

In the period of 2019-2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism development with the following provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Tourism development cooperation between localities mainly focuses on four areas: cooperation in promoting and advertising tourism; cooperation in exchanging information on tourism development, planning and calling for investment; cooperation in surveying and developing tourism products; cooperation in training and fostering tourism human resources.

Departments, branches, sectors and enterprises of provinces and cities proactively develop plans, promote and advertise tourism and introduce tourism products at major tourism events; support each other to create unique and distinctive tourism programs and products.

The diverse convergence of forest-sea tourism resources, river systems, lakes, cultural and historical relics, and craft villages is an advantage for localities to link up and develop many types of tourism such as: source tourism, community tourism, resort tourism, sea tourism, eco-tourism...

Linking activities not only bring product diversification but also aim to exploit the outstanding tourism products between localities, leaving many good impressions on domestic and foreign tourists.

Delegates give opinions at the conference

Coordinate with localities to carry out annual promotion and advertising programs, international tourism fairs; exchange information, link tourism websites, social networking platforms; periodically discuss the implementation of signed cooperation contents; coordinate, invest in construction and put into operation tours... Thanks to that, in the past 5 years, the province has welcomed more than 5.6 million visitors, with revenue reaching nearly 4,300 billion VND.

Highly appreciating the results achieved in recent times, Ms. H Yim Kđoh, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, said that the province needs to continue to strengthen connections and expand cooperation with localities across the country; promote the application of information technology, coordinate in promoting and promoting tourism in all aspects.

“In the process of cooperation, how can we create common tourism products, continue to support information and experience exchange in the coming time so that the cooperation program can achieve the expected results. Localities regularly exchange and share experiences in tourism, cooperation, investment, and development policies of each locality. On that basis, the province will have research and continue to provide specific mechanisms for tourism development in the coming time" - Ms. H Yim Kđoh said.

Dak Lak province presents souvenirs to units participating in association and cooperation with the province in recent times.

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed solutions for cooperation and linkage in the coming time such as: organizing conferences to promote, attract investment, and develop tourism products between localities; connecting tourism in the Central coastal provinces with the Central Highlands provinces after the Dak Lak-Khanh Hoa expressway is built; building tours connecting tourism in the Central Highlands provinces with the Southeast provinces and Ho Chi Minh City after the Long Thanh airport is put into operation...

On this occasion, Dak Lak Tourism Promotion Center and provinces and cities introduced outstanding cultural, sports and tourism activities/events in the last 4 months of 2024 and 2025 of the localities.

Before that, the delegates attending the conference offered incense and visited the Buon Ma Thuot Prison National Monument. The delegation also surveyed some typical and unique tourist areas, spots and products of Dak Lak such as: Dray Nur and Dray Sap Thuong waterfalls; experienced rafting, explored ancient stone slopes on the Serepok River; visited the Nam Truong Son cocoa farm; surveyed the Thanh Dong mushroom village tourist site; Troh Bu eco-tourism site in Buon Don; visited the World Coffee Museum...
