In accordance with Decision No. 985/QD-UBND dated June 27, 2023, of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province on the Plan for implementing the Market Stabilization Program in Tra Vinh province in 2023 and the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024; this year's program is implemented in a socialized manner and has been deployed to participating units and businesses with a rich, abundant, and diverse supply of goods for price stabilization through price stabilization sales points of units and businesses in the province.
According to Mr. Pham Phuoc Trai, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tra Vinh province: The Department has coordinated and directed relevant units to implement the Market Stabilization Program for 2023 and the Lunar New Year of 2024, focusing on stockpiling essential goods such as rice, food, meat, and consumer goods like cooking oil and sugar in the districts, contributing to ensuring the needs of people throughout the province during the end of 2023 and the Lunar New Year of 2024.
Specifically, the price stabilization program involves 6 participating units/businesses (Tra Vinh Food Company; Duc Hung Trading and Service Company Limited; Truong Anh Trading and Transport Company Limited; Mai Ninh Company Limited; Hoang Dong Petroleum Trading Company Limited; Bay Thanh Household Business) and 5 supermarkets (Co.opmart Tra Vinh; Co.opmart Tieu Can; Co.opmart Duyen Hai; Go! Tra Vinh Supermarket; VinMart) along with 5 sales points of Bach Hoa Xanh stores (Tra Cu 2 points; Tieu Can 1 point; Duyen Hai district 1 point; Cau Ke 1 point) and 8 VinMart+ stores in Tra Vinh city; with a total estimated value of goods exceeding 7,339 billion VND.

Dairy products: including all liquid and powdered milk products. Fuel: liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Price-stabilized goods will be widely distributed throughout the province through channels such as supermarkets, convenience stores, and price-stabilized sales points of participating businesses, as well as over 38 sales points on mass media, electronic portals, and fanpages…
Simultaneously, local areas within the province will organize Vietnamese product sales events; the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion will organize four Vietnamese product fairs in rural areas in Chau Thanh district, Cang Long district, and Long Duc commune (Tra Vinh city)... In trade promotion work, the Tra Vinh Department of Industry and Trade has proactively coordinated the implementation of cooperation programs between Tra Vinh province and Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta on linking product consumption and strengthening support for goods in market stabilization efforts.
Mr. Le Ngoc Minh, Director of the Clean Vegetable Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (Long Duc, Tra Vinh City), said: currently, agricultural products have seen a slight increase in price, especially rice, which has increased quite significantly (over 15%). For businesses, the supply of goods within the business-farmer linkage chain is still ensured; there are no shortages or price spikes for agricultural products. Regarding rice, the company has signed an agreement with a business in Ngoc Bien commune (Tra Cu district) to guarantee a supply of approximately 100 tons of finished rice (2kg, 5kg, and 10kg bags), and the company will only increase prices when market rice prices rise by more than 15%.
In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade is also focusing on vigorously implementing measures to strengthen inspection, supervision, and management of essential goods from now until the end of the year, aiming to contribute to preventing and combating counterfeit, fake, and substandard goods, as well as ensuring food safety.
According to Comrade Pham Phuoc Trai, the Department of Industry and Trade (in its role as Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the 389 Steering Committee of Tra Vinh province) has coordinated with the Tra Vinh Provincial Market Management Department and relevant units to implement several tasks: continuing to effectively implement the directives of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the 389 Steering Committee of the province on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.
Strengthen legal education and awareness campaigns; encourage citizens not to abet smugglers, to participate in reporting crimes, and to cooperate with functional forces in this field. Maintain the hotline of the Tra Vinh 389 Steering Committee for receiving information from the public regarding smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods. Enhance coordination and combat against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods according to functions, areas, and fields of management.
Strengthening information exchange between functional forces and local authorities will create synergy and achieve high effectiveness in combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the area.
Effectively monitor the local area and thoroughly understand the operating methods of illegal businesses to proactively coordinate with relevant forces to effectively combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods; paying particular attention to violations related to the production and sale of counterfeit goods, substandard goods, goods of unknown origin, and food safety violations during the Lunar New Year. Strictly handle all violations in accordance with the law.
