After the VFF announced the termination of the contract with coach Philippe Troussier, a number of Vietnam national team and U23 Vietnam players sent their farewells to the French coach through their personal pages.
The two leaders of the Vietnam national team, Do Hung Dung and Que Ngoc Hai, were the first players to post statuses expressing gratitude for the contributions of coach Philippe Troussier.
“Thank you for the time we have spent together. I wish you good health and all the best,” Que Ngoc Hai shared. Do Hung Dung also sent a similar message in English.
Besides the two pillars of the Vietnam national team, U23 Vietnam players such as Luong Duy Cuong, Ho Van Cuong, Bui Vi Hao... also sent their gratitude to coach Philippe Troussier.
The posts of the Vietnamese players attracted a lot of interaction from fans. Besides the angry views criticizing coach Philippe Troussier, there were also opinions expressing sympathy for the French coach.
Under coach Philippe Troussier, Vietnamese football has experienced many disappointments. U23 Vietnam could not defend the SEA Games 32 gold medal. Meanwhile, the Vietnam national team almost lost the chance to continue in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and had a record of losing 10/11 of the last matches before coach Troussier left.
