The patient was admitted to the hospital in a conscious state, able to communicate, with pink lips, warm limbs, clear radial pulse, and regular breathing. The wound on the right side of the face was complex, including many deep cuts with 10 marks, size 5x3cm, bleeding slightly...
Immediately, the child was given a wound stopper, an injection of anti-rabies serum around the wound to neutralize the virus and rabies toxin, preventing it from spreading to the central nervous system. The patient was given a rabies vaccine according to the schedule, anti-tetanus serum, antibiotics, pain relievers, the wound was washed, and the wound was stitched intermittently with about 20 stitches.
After 4 days of treatment, the child's condition gradually improved and the rabies vaccination regimen continued.
On the same day, the City Children's Hospital said that it had just provided emergency care to a child patient, D.QH (6 years old, residing in Cai Nuoc commune, Ca Mau province), who was bitten on the left foot by a red-tailed green pit viper. The family stopped the bleeding and caught the snake, immediately took the child to the local hospital, gave first aid to stop the bleeding, gave him an IV, and then transferred him to the City Children's Hospital.

Here, the child had bruises and swelling on the left thumb and ankle, bleeding through the gauze, the child's face was lethargic, tests showed severe blood clotting disorder, and the family brought along the snake they caught, a red-tailed green pit viper. Therefore, the doctors diagnosed the child with a red-tailed green pit viper bite and treated the child with a specific antivenom serum.
As a result, the child's condition did not improve after 6 hours, so he was given a second dose of anti-snake venom serum. After 12 hours, the child stopped bleeding and the snake bite wound was less swollen and bruised.
