The Party's strength comes from the people. The Party's greatest asset is the people's trust, so bringing happiness to the people is the most effective way to consolidate the Party's position and leadership role towards the nation.
A rich and powerful country, happy people
Standing on the working class's position, Ho Chi Minh emphasized: happiness is first of all the happiness of the working people and the Party "must fulfill the task of liberating the nation, making the Fatherland rich and strong, and the people happy". His thoughts not only express profound humanism but also serve as a theoretical basis and guideline for the Party's perception and action to bring happiness to the people.

As a spiritual product of a genius thinker and experienced revolutionary, Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on human happiness are extremely profound. He affirmed that people can only be happy when the nation is independent and free; the only way for oppressed nations to have happiness is to fight against imperialism and regain national independence. However, if the country is independent but the people do not enjoy freedom and happiness, then that independence is meaningless. From his understanding of the characteristics of contemporary social types, Ho Chi Minh affirmed: "There is no regime that respects people, pays attention to considering the right personal interests and ensures their satisfaction like the socialist and communist regimes". According to Ho Chi Minh, building socialism "first of all aims to help the working people escape poverty, make everyone have jobs, be warm and live a happy life". He also included "Happiness" in the slogan associated with the national name to affirm the highest goal and value of the revolution. Not stopping at ideology, Ho Chi Minh was always deeply aware of his responsibility to "row the boat of the Fatherland to overcome the storms and safely reach the shore of happiness of the people". He sacrificed himself completely for the happiness of the people.
The Party 's responsibility
Taking Ho Chi Minh's thought as a part of the ideological foundation, the Party always emphasizes studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style. Therefore, each Party Congress in nearly 40 years of renovation is a "step" in the Party's awareness process of people's happiness. The 6th Party Congress (1986) reaffirmed Ho Chi Minh's viewpoint on the Party's principles and ideals: "Our Party has no other purpose than to fight for the happiness of the people". Renovation is carried out in the spirit of "All for the socialist Fatherland, for the happiness of the people". People's happiness is also the reason for the Party to persevere in its socialist orientation. Promoting the value of "Happiness", "Happiness" is an essential characteristic of Vietnamese socialism.

The platform for national construction in the transitional period to socialism (both the 1991 platform and the supplemented and developed platform in 2011) both determined: The socialist society that our people are building is a society where people have a prosperous, free, happy life, and have conditions for comprehensive personal development. The ethics of party members are also reflected through that "lens": "The noble quality of a communist is... to strive all his life for the revolutionary ideal, for the independence of the Fatherland and a prosperous, free, and happy life for the people, including himself and his family". At the 13th National Party Congress, "improving the quality of life and the happiness index of Vietnamese people" was identified as the central task of the congress term. The Party's viewpoint on people's happiness is also expressed through the speech of the Party's highest leader. In May 2021, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote an article considered the Party's "manifesto" on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam. In it, the General Secretary affirmed the humane nature of the socialist regime that Vietnam is building: "We need a society in which development is truly for the people, not for profit that exploits and tramples on human dignity. We need economic development coupled with social progress and justice, not increasing the gap between rich and poor and social inequality. We need a compassionate, united, mutually supportive society, oriented towards progressive social and humane values, not unfair competition, "big fish swallowing small fish", for the selfish interests of a few individuals and groups. We need sustainable development, in harmony with nature to ensure a clean living environment for present and future generations, not for exploiting, appropriating resources, consuming material things without limit and destroying the environment. And we need a political system in which real power belongs to the people, by the people and for the people. benefits of the people, not just for a wealthy minority." Talking about personal happiness, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "Human happiness is not only about having a lot of money, a lot of property, eating well, dressing well, but also about the richness of the soul, living between love and compassion, reason and justice." Wishing people to enjoy true happiness, not just the "orientation" in the resolution, in his closing speech at the 13th National Party Congress, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: "The Congress is just the beginning. Whether it can be done or not, whether tomorrow the resolution can be turned into a vivid reality or not, whether it can produce material wealth, bring wealth and happiness to the people or not, that is the actual success of the Congress." The strength of the Party originates from the people, the greatest asset of the Party is the trust of the people. Therefore, bringing happiness to the people is the most effective way to consolidate the position and leadership role of the Party towards the nation. In 1969, on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam , President Ho Chi Minh emphasized: repelling individualism and improving revolutionary ethics is "a practical way to celebrate the founding of the Party". Up to now, on the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Party, strengthening the fight against individualism, improving revolutionary ethics, and repelling degradation within the Party is still the primary task for the Party to be able to wholeheartedly act for the happiness of the people as in the past 94 years.

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), yesterday, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid a wreath and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum. Attending the ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Committee Truong Thi Mai. Also attending the ceremony were former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former National Assembly Chairmen Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung; and many leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and organizations. The delegation's wreath bore the inscription: "Forever grateful to the great President Ho Chi Minh". The delegation expressed their respect and remembrance of the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the founder, leader and trainer of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the vanguard of the working class, the working people and the Vietnamese nation. Next, the leaders and former leaders of the Party and State laid wreaths in memory of the heroic martyrs at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs (Bac Son Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi). On the same morning, delegations from the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense; the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security; Hanoi City... laid wreaths, visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs.
