Spending 834 billion VND to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of April 30 and September 2

Giving gifts to people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country has great significance, demonstrating the care and concern of the Party and State.

According tothe President 's decision, the gift (in cash) of 500,000 VND is given to revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945 who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; Vietnamese heroic mothers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes during the resistance war who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

War invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, category B war invalids, sick soldiers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; People with meritorious services to the revolution who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; People who participated in the revolution, resistance, defending the Fatherland, performing international duties and were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy and are receiving monthly preferential allowances are also meritorious people who are receiving gifts on this occasion.

In addition, this gift is also given to relatives of people with revolutionary contributions, including: Relatives of martyrs receiving monthly allowances; relatives of two or more martyrs receiving monthly allowances; Representatives of martyrs' relatives; People who worship martyrs (in case the martyrs have no relatives).

The above gift amount will be paid once on April 30. The funding is guaranteed by the Central budget according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 14, Article 170, Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP.

Previously, on behalf of the Prime Minister, on April 18, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra signed Document No. 440/TTr-TTg to submit to the President to present gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country. The total estimated cost of implementation is 834 billion 117 million VND.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, giving gifts to people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country has great significance, demonstrating the care and concern of the Party and State for people with meritorious services to the revolution.

After the President decides to give gifts to people with revolutionary contributions, based on the assigned state budget estimate for 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs will guide the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to organize the giving of gifts from the President to people with revolutionary contributions thoughtfully and promptly.
