Kinhtedothi-On December 21 and 22, the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen district ( Hanoi ) coordinated with other units to organize a special program in Cuu village. The village road and more than 40 ancient villas will be lit up with technological and artistic lighting.
The event is not only an opportunity to promote the unique image of Cuu Village - an ancient village with a history of more than 500 years on the peaceful Nhue River - but also creates an opportunity for this craft village to integrate internationally. The event aims to promote the local economy , create a trade and tourism bridge between Vietnam and Italy, as well as other countries, through trade promotion activities. For the first time, the show "Cuu Village - Fashion, Art and Tourism" has the participation of many organizations and businesses from Vietnam, Italy and international partners.
The “Cuu Village Show” event will take place from December 21 to 22, 2024, as a journey to experience Vietnamese culture and art, opening up opportunities for international exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and Italy. In the historical space of Cuu Village, the event will bring a series of rich activities, including performing arts, trade exchanges, and culinary culture introduction, meeting the expectations of both domestic and international visitors.
At “Cuu Village Show,” the traditional craft activities of Cuu Village will be vividly and deeply portrayed, giving visitors a true look at the handicraft techniques that have existed for generations. The sewing profession, considered “the best in Hanoi” since the French colonial period, will be recreated through ancient sewing tables, with artisans skillfully embroidering each stitch. Products such as ao dai, handkerchiefs and handmade accessories all have the characteristics of Cuu Village, demonstrating the talent of ancient Vietnamese craftsmen. In addition, visitors can also admire the process of making sophisticated pottery and handicrafts with each meticulous step, from shaping, carving to decorating patterns, vividly recreating a part of the rich cultural heritage of traditional Vietnamese craft villages.
The “Meet The Arts” activity will display works of art and traditional handicrafts such as ceramics, brocades, and handicrafts made by artisans of Cuu village, helping visitors deeply feel the quintessence of Vietnamese culture. This is also a valuable opportunity for Italian businesses to approach and learn about traditional handicrafts, expanding the potential for cooperation and trade between the two countries.
The “Meet The Poet” event is a gathering of famous poets from Vietnam and Italy. Poets will share and interact through selected works, bringing moments of immersion in words and emotions. Interspersed with the workshop “Trade Development”, where economic experts share market development strategies, businesses will have the opportunity to learn and exchange cooperation methods, helping to improve competitiveness and create more momentum for international trade between Vietnam and Italy as well as Europe.
Cuu Village - a village over 500 years old in the ancient capital, about 40km south of Hanoi, in Van Tu commune (Phu Xuyen district) is a place that preserves the rare cultural and architectural values of Hanoi. People call Cuu Village "Western Village" not only because it was once a famous tailor center but also because of its unique East-West architectural fusion. The Western Gothic villas, characterized by Renaissance-style domes and delicately carved pillars, blend with ancient Vietnamese architectural details such as tiled roofs, Han-Nom parallel sentences, and carved mascots imbued with the Vietnamese spirit.
