From the pages of a book to the "digital stage"

The "I-Review Book Arena" Season 2 is a key activity in the project to develop reading culture in high schools, implemented by the Ca Mau Provincial Department of Education and Training in collaboration with the Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Corporation (PVCFC), with the support of BNA (Book and Action) Vietnam.

The competition's uniqueness lies not only in its content but also in its presentation style. Teams take to the "digital stage" via Facebook livestream, directly presenting, debating, and interacting with the audience. In just 3-5 minutes, each segment requires contestants to carefully select content, clearly express their personal perspective, and convey their message persuasively.

The book review entries were meticulously prepared with slides and illustrative videos , clearly showcasing the students' unique thinking and perspectives. (In the photo: The entry from the "Planet of Miracles" team - PVCFC Book and Action Club, Phan Ngoc Hien Specialized High School)

The three overarching themes of the season—"The Red Thread," "Youth of Ca Mau in the Digital Age," and "The Source of Ca Mau"—are designed with depth, connecting to core issues of life such as family, technology, and the environment. Through this, students not only read to learn, but also to understand, to relate, and to act.

Commenting on the quality of the competition, judge Dao Hoa Anh Dao, representative of BNA Vietnam and Director of the Book Lover Project, remarked: “I was truly impressed with the creativity, depth of content, and presentation of the participating teams. They not only reviewed books but also clearly demonstrated teamwork, true to the core values of Books and Action.”

Representing PVCFC, Ms. Do Ngoc Yen Nhi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the Administration Block at PVCFC, stated that the I-Review Book Arena is not just a book competition, but a playground to spread reading culture, where students can demonstrate their thinking, confidence, and affirm their self-worth through each page of a book.

Emotionally charged competitions

At the "January Arena" with the theme "The Red Thread," the atmosphere was serene through stories about family and the journey of growing up. The two best teams were the "Giving Back Life" team (PVCFC Book and Action Club, Bac Lieu Specialized High School) with their work "Father and Son Stickleback Fish " and the "Family is Number 1" team (PVCFC Book and Action Club, Dam Doi High School) with "My Sweet Orange Tree."

Behind the polished presentations lies a journey of persistent effort. Tran Phan Hien Nhi, captain of the "Giving Life Back" team, shared: "Winning is not just an achievement, but a recognition of teamwork and serious work. More importantly, we realized that reading is only truly meaningful when it is transformed into action."
