Director Nguyen Lan Vy has been imbued with a love for Ao Dai since childhood. During her childhood, she was familiar with the image of her mother in a flowing Ao Dai next to a Tet feast, each gentle and elegant gesture containing the spirit of the loving Tet season. From stories about the meticulousness in each needle and thread, she gradually understood that Ao Dai is not only a costume but also a symbol of identity, a connection between people and their national roots. From there, a passion grew within her, and later, when she grew up, Lan Vy devoted her heart and career to honoring and spreading the cultural value of Ao Dai of Vietnam.
It is known that after graduating with two majors in Economics and Foreign Languages in Vietnam, Ms. Lan Vy continued to go to New Zealand to get a Master's degree in Business Administration and a major in Festival Stage Directing. After studying and working abroad for about 10 years, she returned to Vietnam with the desire to contribute to her homeland.
As a person who loves Vietnamese culture very much, always considering the preservation and promotion of the country's culture by breathing life into the Ao Dai as her mission, she decided to introduce it to international friends and tourists by conveying the image of Vietnamese culture and people through the Ao Dai. That was also the time when she decided to establish VKSTAR Joint Stock Company, along with a traditional Vietnamese cultural and historical art program under the brand name "Ao Dai Show".
She has made a very beautiful mark in preserving the national cultural identity through the program "Ao Dai Show". This is not only a fashion show, "Ao Dai Show" also recreates the atmosphere of the old Tet with graceful ao dai images, each collection contains stories about tradition. In addition, the program also brings folk dances, Chau Van, an intangible heritage of Vietnam, reenacting history, traditional Tet customs, helping viewers enjoy the beauty of Ao Dai and feel the soul of national culture. In the form of a cultural show, the program is a skillful "stage" of Ao Dai performances to help viewers, especially domestic and foreign tourists, better understand the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai culture".
Currently, the cultural tourism service product “Ao Dai Show” has been developed very successfully, becoming a cultural tourism destination in Da Nang City; Organizing daily performances with a frequency of 2 shows per day (17:00 and 19:45) at 1A Tran Van Dan, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang City.
Not only organizing domestic programs, Director Lan Vy also brings the image of Vietnamese Ao Dai to the world and leaves a deep impression on international friends.
