On the afternoon of July 31, the film crew of Getting Rich with Ghosts: Diamond War held a project announcement event. Director Trung Lun and actors: Tuan Tran, Diep Bao Ngoc, Vo Tan Phat, Ngoc Xuan and representatives of the production company were present to interact with the press and media.
After the success of part 1 released on the occasion of September 2, 2024 with a revenue of more than 128 billion VND, part 2 of the film received a lot of attention and expectation. That is also the reason why director Trung Lun devoted a lot of enthusiasm and was more demanding in each scene. Even, as the director himself admitted, he felt a bit "cruel" to the actors because he forced them to put in 200% effort for each scene. It is known that the film had a very long filming time, more than 40 days with many river scenes.
Taking on the female lead role in the film, Diep Bao Ngoc revealed that she still clearly remembers a scene filmed underwater, with her right hand holding onto the side of the boat while the water was flowing very fast. "The scene was only a few minutes long, but my hand was so sore and tired that I wondered if I would ever let go. If it was true, I would have drifted with the current because the water was flowing very fast. I felt really scared," Diep Bao Ngoc recalled.
According to the film crew, because of an argument with the director, Diep Bao Ngoc once left the chat group for actors and returned to Ho Chi Minh City, making director Trung Lun "scared to death".
However, according to her, during the filming process, although there were times when everyone raised their voices, everyone showed love and tried their best for the film. She felt proud and grateful for that.
Actress Ngoc Xuan, in her first collaboration with director Trung Lun, said that the senior director guided her every blink, gesture, and action because he always wanted everything to be perfect and the best it could be. She admired the spirit and love he put into each role as well as the entire project.
Getting Rich with Ghosts 2 revolves around the tragicomic journey of 5 people with different plans to bring the body of the movie star Anh Thu (Ngoc Xuan) back to her hometown. In return, her ghost promises to pay them a diamond ring worth 9 billion.
The producer said that the film is a journey for each character to realize that there are values that cannot be measured by money. Through stumbling, loss and challenging journeys, people will understand what is truly important. Love, honesty and sharing are the treasures that cannot be bought at any price.
The film opens in theaters nationwide from August 29.
