TPO - An imported flower, the winter cherry blossom is impressive with its clusters of plump, red berries growing densely on the branches. This year, the Hanoi market has seen the appearance of fresh winter cherry blossom trees crafted from driftwood, selling for hundreds of millions of dong.

Unique winter cherry blossoms have arrived on the streets of Hanoi, with some pots priced at hundreds of millions of dong still attracting customers.

At the Tet flower market on Pham Hung Street (Hanoi), stalls selling imported winter peach blossom trees have appeared, attracting customers to shop and admire them.

Unlike the vibrant beauty of traditional peach blossoms, winter peach trees impress with their clusters of plump, red fruits growing densely on the branches. Currently, the lowest prices are for miniature winter peach bonsai pots, ranging from 3 to 7 million VND per pot, while larger pots can cost tens of millions of VND. Notably, some high-end, meticulously crafted pots with elaborate designs can reach hundreds of millions of VND.

The vibrant red color of the winter cherry blossom is believed by many to bring joy, good fortune, prosperity, and wealth during the Lunar New Year.

Ms. Huyen, the stall owner, said: "The shop has been open for over 10 days now and has attracted a lot of customers who are curious to know whether these are real or fake plants. Many people are surprised that each potted plant costs from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dong."

To cultivate a beautiful and desirable winter cherry tree, great care and meticulous attention must be paid from planting to transportation to avoid breaking branches, dropping fruit, or losing its shape and beauty.

According to vendors at the flower market, winter cherry blossoms have been present in Vietnam for many years, but mainly as fresh or dried branches. This year, potted winter cherry blossom trees have been imported.

The artisans also skillfully create small green plants or miniature landscapes to further decorate and enhance the aesthetics, catering to the diverse needs of customers.
