At that time, Mr. Nguyen Van C.'s family home (house number 31) was undergoing foundation excavation for construction. Due to the impact of the deep excavation, the adjacent house at number 33 Thanh Thien Street (a shoe and handbag shop owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Nh.) suffered serious subsidence.
On-site observations revealed that the facade and entire large sections of walls of house number 33 showed numerous cracks, with the concrete structure crumbling and collapsing in some areas. The entire building was deformed and tilted significantly towards the excavation pit, on the verge of collapse.
According to Ms. Nh., her family had recently purchased house number 33 and was renovating it, preparing to move in, when the incident occurred.
When the incident occurred, the house contained a large quantity of goods and valuable assets. Fortunately, no one was inside at the time, so there were no casualties.

At the same time, the local government worked with the investor of the construction project and the affected households to agree on a remediation plan.
Initial assessments indicate that, in addition to the tilting house, approximately 10 neighboring households are also at risk. Bac Giang Ward has urgently relocated residents in the dangerous area to a safe location until the problem is completely resolved.
According to local authorities, the owner of the structure has contacted the demolition contractor and expects to complete the work by June 3rd in order to quickly stabilize the situation and ensure the safety of residents in the area.
