A look around the market on May 29th.

Jackfruit with durian flavor is heavily discounted.

Báo Cần ThơBáo Cần Thơ29/05/2026

(CT) - The price of durian-flavored jackfruit in the Mekong Delta has decreased by 30,000-45,000 VND/kg compared to previous years (around 70,000-80,000 VND/kg), with retail prices at many markets and fruit stalls now only 40,000-50,000 VND/kg. Many farmers in Vinh Long, Dong Thap , etc., sell durian-flavored jackfruit to traders and wholesalers at 25,000-35,000 VND/kg. Despite the sharp decrease, the price of this type of jackfruit is still higher than many other jackfruit varieties on the market. The reason for the drop is the high supply due to the simultaneous harvesting of new planting areas, while this product is mainly consumed domestically.

Dried coconut prices have decreased.

(CT) - Compared to more than a month ago, the price of dried coconuts in many localities in the Mekong Delta has decreased from 10,000-15,000 VND/dozen (12 coconuts), down to 35,000-45,000 VND/dozen (for coconuts harvested by traders), while pre-harvested coconuts are priced at 50,000-55,000 VND/dozen. Meanwhile, many businesses and production facilities that purchase directly from warehouses offer higher prices, at 60,000-65,000 VND/dozen. The decrease in dried coconut prices is due to slow export and domestic consumption, and the prices of processed products made from coconut flesh and by-products have also decreased.

Durian prices are rising again.

(CT) - Prices of many durian varieties in the Mekong Delta have increased by 5,000-12,000 VND/kg compared to about three weeks ago. Ri 6 seedless durian and Chuong Bo durian are sold by farmers in bulk to traders at 32,000-37,000 VND/kg; selected grade 1 durian is purchased by businesses at warehouses at 45,000-50,000 VND/kg. Sau Huu and Monthong durian are sold in bulk at 55,000-60,000 VND/kg, while selected grade 1 durian fetches 75,000-80,000 VND/kg. The price increase is due to reduced supply, while domestic and export demand has rebounded.
