Dried coconut prices have decreased.
(CT) - Compared to more than a month ago, the price of dried coconuts in many localities in the Mekong Delta has decreased from 10,000-15,000 VND/dozen (12 coconuts), down to 35,000-45,000 VND/dozen (for coconuts harvested by traders), while pre-harvested coconuts are priced at 50,000-55,000 VND/dozen. Meanwhile, many businesses and production facilities that purchase directly from warehouses offer higher prices, at 60,000-65,000 VND/dozen. The decrease in dried coconut prices is due to slow export and domestic consumption, and the prices of processed products made from coconut flesh and by-products have also decreased.
Durian prices are rising again.
(CT) - Prices of many durian varieties in the Mekong Delta have increased by 5,000-12,000 VND/kg compared to about three weeks ago. Ri 6 seedless durian and Chuong Bo durian are sold by farmers in bulk to traders at 32,000-37,000 VND/kg; selected grade 1 durian is purchased by businesses at warehouses at 45,000-50,000 VND/kg. Sau Huu and Monthong durian are sold in bulk at 55,000-60,000 VND/kg, while selected grade 1 durian fetches 75,000-80,000 VND/kg. The price increase is due to reduced supply, while domestic and export demand has rebounded.
