- Implementing Resolution No. 46-NQ/TU, dated September 8, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on building new rural areas in Lang Son province, giai đoạn 2021 – 2025, all levels and sectors in the province have actively and synchronously participated. Leveraging their role as a pioneering and creative force, the Youth Union at all levels and its members have actively participated through specific projects and tasks, contributing to the completion of new rural area criteria and gradually changing the face of the province's rural areas.

Raising awareness among union members and young people.
Building new rural areas is a comprehensive, long-term process that directly impacts the material and spiritual lives of people in rural areas. Recognizing the role and responsibility of the younger generation in this process, the work of disseminating information and raising awareness among youth union members has been identified by all levels of the Youth Union in the province as a key political task, closely linked to political and ideological education.
Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union Federation, said: "During the process of participating in building new rural areas, we determined that ideological work must be one step ahead, playing a leading role in guiding the awareness and directing the actions of Youth Union members. The content and methods of propaganda have been innovated in a practical direction, linking the Party's policies with specific issues of rural life, helping Youth Union members understand that building new rural areas is not a short-term movement but a long-term responsibility, linked to the future of young people themselves. At the same time, we also volunteer to undertake new and difficult tasks to accompany the province in building new rural areas, model new rural areas, and improving rural areas in residential areas."
The Party and State's policies on building new rural areas are regularly and effectively disseminated by the Provincial Youth Union through branch meetings, volunteer movements, and the Youth Union's media system. In particular, the monthly newsletter "Youth of Lang Son" has become an important resource for grassroots youth organizations. Alongside this, the Youth Union has promoted the application of digital technology , developing diverse media publications for publication on its electronic portal and social media platforms, contributing to the widespread dissemination of information on building new rural areas.
During the period 2021–2025, youth union branches at all levels organized 84 training courses to raise awareness and skills for youth union officials, members, and rural people, focusing on digital transformation in building new rural areas, transferring advanced technologies, and developing OCOP products. From 2022 to the present, the entire province has organized more than 1,500 propaganda sessions associated with branch and association activities; published 12,600 copies of the Lang Son Youth Newsletter; published 1,500 news articles; and organized nearly 2,000 propaganda campaigns in residential areas with more than 387,700 youth union members and people participating.
Practical actions
Youth Union branches throughout the province have proactively selected specific tasks that closely match the practical needs of the communes to undertake, considering them both as part of their movement activities and as a political responsibility of the Youth Union in building new rural areas. The motto "do the easy things first, then the difficult things" has been implemented flexibly, focusing on environmental protection, improving essential infrastructure, building rural landscapes, and caring for children's living spaces. Typical examples include the construction of "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized" residential area models and youth-managed road sections, which not only involve a large number of Youth Union members but also attract the support of local residents.

During the period 2021–2025, the Youth Union branches at all levels throughout the province mobilized Youth Union members and social resources to support the construction of 357 new incinerators, 130 "Lighting up village roads" projects, 127 toilets for children; 76 playgrounds for young people; 65 "Happy Houses," "Humanitarian Houses," and "Loving Houses"; 7 model residential areas that are "Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized"; repaired and renovated more than 50,332 meters of rural roads; and donated more than 7,800 social welfare gifts to disadvantaged people and young people. The total value of these resources exceeded 10 billion VND.
Comrade Hoang Thi Thuy Linh, Secretary of the Bang Mac Commune Youth Union, said: "In the past, I, as well as a large number of Youth Union members in the commune, have actively implemented many projects to participate in building new rural areas, such as maintaining the 'bright - green - clean - beautiful' village model, implementing the 'Lighting up village roads' project, environmental sanitation, and landscape construction... These projects not only contribute to ensuring traffic safety and security but also change the lives of the people, receiving the consensus of the Party Committee and the government."

Recognizing that building sustainable new rural areas must be linked to increasing people's income, including the youth, the Youth Union branches at all levels in the province have focused on supporting young people in developing the local economy. The focus is on creating conditions for young people to access capital, science and technology, and production models suitable to the agricultural restructuring orientation and the advantages of each locality, gradually forming local economic models and reducing the number of young people seeking work far from home. Every year, the Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Competition, organized at various levels, has supported young people in perfecting their production models and orienting towards sustainable development. A prime example is the canned braised pork production model of Mr. Le Quang Hieu, Na Ca village, Trang Dinh commune. Participating in the Lang Son Provincial Youth Entrepreneurship Competition in 2024, the product was initially in a rudimentary form. After receiving advice and support in completing legal procedures, packaging, and promotion, he now sells thousands of products each month, creating stable jobs for 4 workers.

To date, the total outstanding loan balance through youth organizations has reached over 1,082 billion VND, an increase of more than 445 billion VND compared to 2020. The province has established 7 youth cooperative groups, 11 youth cooperatives, and 174 youth economic development models linked to agriculture, rural areas, and the OCOP program; supporting 100 young people in realizing their startup and business ideas. This has contributed to increasing income, creating stable jobs, and directly contributing to the income and production organization criteria in building new rural areas.
The activities of the Youth Union at all levels in the past period have made a positive contribution to the results of building new rural areas in the province. As of the 2021-2025 period, each commune in the province has achieved an average of 15.21 criteria for building new rural areas; the entire province has 106 out of 175 communes meeting the new rural area standards, 28 communes meeting the advanced new rural area standards, and 10 communes meeting the model new rural area standards.
With a spirit of initiative, creativity, and a desire to contribute, in the coming time, the youth of the entire province will continue to undertake specific, practical projects and tasks, closely linked to the practical needs at the grassroots level. Through this, they will contribute to improving the quality of New Rural Area criteria, aiming towards building a sustainable and civilized rural area.
