Specifically, the project will build an underground dike system to reduce waves and maintain an artificial beach parallel to the shore, 250m-300m from the shore with a length of about 550m, and fill in to create a beach with a length of about 1,450m. The total investment of the project is expected to be 210 billion VND from the central budget.
As VTC News reported, in 2022, due to the impact of storms and rain, the coast of Cam An ward, Hoi An city suffered landslides along the entire route, destroying many houses and tourist areas.

A stretch of coastline devastated by waves
Specifically, at An Bang block, the coastal section without temporary embankment eroded about 3-4m. At Tan Thanh block, some sections of temporary embankment were damaged by waves and eroded, the entire volume of filled soil was washed away, some sections eroded into the embankment.
In particular, at Thinh My block, the section without temporary embankment (5-star coastal eco-tourism project - Hoi An Holiday, Le Phan tourist area) suffered a landslide of 3-5m. In addition, 4 houses in this section suffered serious landslides. Cam An Ward People's Committee has requested households to evacuate and find safe shelters.
