Implementing the direction of the Government and the National Steering Committee on searching for and collecting martyrs' remains, in recent times, Hung Yen Provincial Police have coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs, local Party committees and authorities to review, compare and clean up data related to martyrs' relatives. At the same time, the units have updated information to the national population database, an important foundation for DNA identification and identification of martyrs with missing information.
The province has deployed 3 rounds of biological sample collection from martyrs' relatives, collecting a total of 405 samples. After analysis and comparison at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine's Gene Bank with data collected by the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order ( Ministry of Public Security ), it was determined that 16 cases of martyrs' remains buried at Duc Co Martyrs' Cemetery (Gia Lai province) had the potential to match DNA with 30 biological samples from relatives nationwide. Among them, there are 3 martyrs from Hung Yen: martyr Tran Van Vich (Tien La commune), martyr Nguyen Van Yen (Dien Ha commune), martyr Nguyen Van Nhuan (Thai Thuy commune).
Up to now, the whole province has surveyed, collected and updated information on 60,414 martyrs; of which 32,085 martyrs have not been identified. In the coming time, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Provincial Police will continue to guide and urge commune-level police to survey and supplement missing cases; ensure that 100% of martyrs on the monitoring list are surveyed, have information collected and updated to the system. At the same time, the unit will step up propaganda so that relatives of martyrs can proactively provide information and supplement missing cases. The Provincial Police will also advise the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order to organize the next sample collection rounds for martyrs with 2 relatives; at the same time, advise the Provincial People's Committee to mobilize social resources to support funding for DNA identification work.
